I have mixed feelings.

The devil on my shoulder reminds me that we dropped Florida State to keep James Madison and dropped Michigan State to keep some other cupcake, and now we're dropping a cupcake to play Alabama.

Great if we win, not so much if we lose.

The angel on the other shoulder says this is what big-time football is all about, and by joining the Big 12, we showed we want to play big-time football. It certainly can't hurt recruiting to play teams of 'Bama's quality, especially in the fertile areas of Florida and Texas.

And then there's the money...

Gustafson is the problem. He has f-d it up for each driver. Wasn't competitive with martin, was a little better with jr, and back to shitz with Gordon, Hendrick will make a mid-season change...should have grabbed Darian Grubb or Mike Ford while they were out there. Junior seems to be able to move between 5th-15th during race, but toward end of races car doesn't seem to have anything "saved"
for a run in the final laps...johnson, carl, biff, hamlin, and kenseth seem real good at getting a little more out of the car with 2-15 laps to go...here's hoping jr and bowyer get the job done

In Dick Rods system Owen played much more of an roll then he will with Oakland. He did carry the ball a ton more then he ever has in the NFL or will with the Raiders, players in college had no chance of bringing him down 1 on 1 when Owen had momentum. In the NFL they might not bring him down but they will be able to slow him down enough that a 20+ yard run while breaking 3 tackles wont happen on a regular basis. I love Owen, I love his story, and I really hope he can make the kind of difference and impact on the Oakland fans he made on WVU's fans. WVU's love for Owen came from him embodying what the State is all about, plus he was a feel good story in college. In the NFL he's just another FB, it saddens me to say but he may be a little bit of a bust seeing how high he was drafted. I hate to think like that but if he wasn't he wouldn't be going to his 3rd team in his 5 year.

I didn't say he was the second coming of John Riggins. I said RaiderNation would love him because he will give everything he has for them. So you disagree, so what? We are both reading tea leaves.

I agree with you a lot on a variety of subjects, jbolt, but regarding USF, we'll have to agree to disagree. However, to show you that I am not completely heartless, I DO hope the Bulls land in the ACC if FSU and Clemson bolt.
