maybe I didn;t make myself clear enough so I edited what this issue was.

Stewart has put 6 of RR's players in the NFL draft in 2 years while RR only put 7 of his and Nehlens players in the draft in 7 years.

I hope that is clear enough

I also said some coaches have done better than others with the other coaches players in the first 4 - 5 years as far as putting them into the Draft!

As you can see some coaches have done more with other coaches players than some of the other coaches.

Case in point little slick rich only put 7 in the draft in 7 years. Also Frank Cignetti couldn't do anything.

Stewart has already put 6 of rr's in the draft in 2 years.

Also Art Pappy Lewis and Bobby Bowden and Don Nehlen and some other have had great success putting former coaches players in the draft and MANY of their own.

Well I wouldn't be surprised to see him back, Huggins is nicknamed Thuggins. IMO I think Mazzulla is finished. I don't look for him to be back. I think his shoulder is much worse than we know. It is a growth defect problem, not something that can be helped with rehab. I think WVU needing room for scholarships.....something to think about.

First of all the THUGGINS thing came from his early years when he had to get JUCO players in to bolster his team and most all of them already had problems.

Secondly after all that happened his programs have been clean. people want to complain about graduation rates but that is not his fault when kids are leaving early for the NBA. They should blame the NBA but ultimately it is held against the coach and the program.

I do hope this turns out to be a farce but the cops investigated before they arrested him so there must be some kind of evidence. So if it is true I wish to see him gone.

Once again you are missing the POINT!

Lankster WAS NOT the cover for Nicks.

KEITH TANDY was.

Almost every catch that Nicks made was against Tandy or a LB.

Lankster was pulled over to help out in some cases but Nicks was not his responsibilty.

First of all Nicks was not Lanksters cover - the redshirt freshman Tandy was his cover.

Lankster did get in on a few plays though.

and secondly just like everyone says. Scouts don't make assumptions on one game like fans do.

Hulce, Rodgers, Alston, Austin

For short yardage you have Hulce and Alston both well over 200 lbs

With Chris Snook coming in @ FB that can block for them

And we also have our redshirt fullback - Ryan Clarke

More info:

The medical hardship waiver …ShareThis
… more commonly known as the medical redshirt. An explanation from WVU’s compliance office follows as to how it might relate to Reed Williams and/or Brantwon Bowser … which still seems too good to be true (I’m not sure which I like more: the part where Stew’s confirmation isn’t quite solid enough or the part where I’m accused of stealing from a chat room. I swear, I have an alibi).

(My comments in italics)
The main points to remember are:
- The student-athlete must suffer an incapacitating injury or illness which keeps them out the remainder of the season (a re-injury is still an injury, so if Reed or Brantwon are re-injured, it’s still seen as an injury.)
- The student-athlete has not participated in more than three contests or 30% (whichever is greater) of the institution’s scheduled or completed contests. (WVU is scheduled to play 12 games and 30% is 3.6. The number is always rounded up, so they havefour games. They can play in parts or all of the first four games before a decision must be made. Any action after the fourth game eliminates the possibility of a redshirt.)

(In depth)
14.2.4 Hardship Waiver.
A student-athlete may be granted an additional year of competition by the conference or the Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement for reasons of “hardship.” Hardship is defined as an incapacity resulting from an injury or illness that has occurred under all of the following conditions:
(Revised: 8/8/02, 11/1/07 effective 8/1/
(a) The incapacitating injury or illness occurs in one of the four seasons of intercollegiate competition at any two-year or four-year collegiate institutions or occurs after the first day of classes in the student-athlete’s senior year in high school;
(Revised: 1/10/92 effective 8/1/92, 11/01/01, 8/8/02)
(b) The injury or illness occurs prior to the first competition of the second half of the playing season that concludes with the NCAA championship in that sport (see Bylaw 14.2.4.3.4) and results in incapacity to compete for the remainder of that playing season;
(Revised: 1/14/97 effective 8/1/97, 4/26/01 effective 8/1/01, 4/3/02, 4/24/
(c) In team sports, the injury or illness occurs when the student-athlete has not participated in more than three contests or dates of competition (whichever is applicable to that sport) or 30 percent (whichever number is greater) of the institution’s scheduled or completed contests or dates of competition in his or her sport.

Only scheduled or completed competition (including exempted events but excluding scrimmages and exhibition contests identified as such in the legislation) against outside participants during the playing season that concludes with the NCAA championship, or, if so designated, during the official NCAA championship playing season in that sport (e.g., spring baseball, fall soccer), shall be countable under this limitation in calculating both the number of contests or dates of competition in which the student-athlete has participated and the number of scheduled or completed contests or dates of competition during that season in the sport.

Dates of competition that are exempted (e.g., alumni contests, foreign team in U.S.) from the maximum permissible number of contests or dates of competition shall count toward the number of contests or dates in which the student-athlete has participated and the number of scheduled or completed contests or dates of competition in the season, except for scrimmages and exhibition contests that are specifically identified as such in the sport’s Bylaw 17 playing and practice season regulations. Scrimmages and exhibition contests that are not exempted from the maximum permissible number of contests or dates of competition may be excluded from the calculation only if they are identified as such by in the sport’s Bylaw 17 playing and practice season regulations; and
(Revised: 1/10/92, 1/14/97 effective 8/1/97, 4/26/01 effective 8/1/01, 3/10/04, 5/11/05, 8/4/05, 4/26/07 applicable to student-athletes who initially enrolled full time in a collegiate institution on or after 8/1/03, 9/18/07, 4/24/08)

A “medical red shirt” is not an official NCAA term, but the term is used when a student-athlete is injured after participating in a limited amount of competition during a particular academic year and then qualifies for a Medical Hardship Waiver.

Medical Hardship Waiver

If a student-athlete suffers a season-ending injury or illness after competing in a limited amount of competition during a particular academic year, he/she may qualify for a medical hardship waiver which would allow him/her an additional season of competition during the five-year period of eligibility. To qualify for a medical hardship:

(a) the student-athlete’s injury or illness must occur in one of the four seasons of intercollegiate competition or subsequent to the first day of classes in the student-athlete’s senior year in high school;

(b) the injury or illness must occur prior to the completion of the first half of the playing season that concludes with the NCAA championship in that sport and must result in incapacity to compete for the remainder of that playing season; and

(c) the injury or illness must occur when the student-athlete has not participated in more than two contests/dates of competition or 20% of the institution’s scheduled contests/dates of competition in his/her sport (whichever number is greater).

one of my earliest memories was going to WVU vs Penn State 1984

parking near mcdonalds and

walking past the apts and people screaming F you PSU

then walking past the pit in all it's glory

seeing Joe Pa and a nittany lion hung in effigy in the stadium

and winning 17 - 14 and watching people tear down the goalposts

my cameo....

I am not going back to read, so if y'all already covered it then fine.

From what I understand Tevita Finau has Resigned his LOI and will be here in January. I do believe that he has 4 hours needed (I think English class)

good post but you do need to understand what people from WV go through all the time. I will just leave it at that.

My answer is both.
