Sorry, sane. That's too specific of a detail. Strohs says you weren't there. Better luck next time.

Yeah, well, I came face-to-face with my ex-wife at that game. I was going up the steps to the concourse and she was coming down. It was so crowded we were both being pushed along by the masses.

Still too specific? Sorry.

* It was a great time. Pretty good crowd for Father's Day weekend with everyone out of school or on vacation. Lower sections were almost full.

* The players had a blast, including geezers like Herbie Brooks, Darryl Prue and Marcus Goree.

* If anybody has more fun playing basketball than Teyvon Meyers I don't know who it is. He never stops smiling.

* Before the game, I watched Da'Sean Butler stand and sign autographs and shake hands with little kids for a long time. He's a real superstar in my mind. His charity will get the proceeds.

* KJ is still deadly from beyond the arc. Awesome shooter.

* Staten is still magic with the ball.

* Truck is still Truck. Make 2 shots then miss 10 in a row. Gotta love Truck.

* Rob Summers is really tall. He showed moves around the basket I never saw when he was at WVU. (Of course, defense was optional in this game.)

* Everyone who CAN go should go next year. It's well worth the 15 bucks and the players love playing before WVU fans again.

That is all.

That is "lighting it up". Any other notable stats or info?

From the Fairmont Times West Virginian:

Saturday’s game featured Mountaineers from a variety of eras, with the group of 18 players broken into two teams.

The blue team, which won the game, 128-110, was comprised of Tarik Phillip, Kevin Jones, Nathan Adrian, Joe Mazzulla, Rob Summers, Herbie Brooks, Butler, Truck Bryant, Brent Solheim and Tom Beynon.

Their opponents in white uniforms were Jaysean Paige, Elijah Macon, Juwan Staten, Flowers, Marcus Goree, Brandon Watkins, Teyvon Myers and Darryl Prue.

Paige, who scored a game high 40 points in last year’s game, increased that output this time around, pouring in a game high 53 points for the white team in a losing effort.

* * *

The evening was filled with highlights, from 3s raining down to thunderous dunks to a dance off at half court, but one player — other than Paige— who really stood out was one of the oldest players on the court in Brooks, who got hot from behind the arc in the first half.

“Not Herbie— Curry,” Butler joked. “The veteran came out there and kept us afloat, because we looked really bad the first couple of minutes.”

Brooks scored 11 points in the win for the blue team, knocking down three 3s as well as a layup. “I’ve always been able to shoot,” Brooks said. “These young guys know I can shoot, so they found me open and I had afew shots I was able to knock down.”

Butler had 10 points and four assists.

Well Mark Raugh certainly was. He, Berton, Purnell and Johnson all played professionally, so whether they caught the ball a lot or just made a lot of blocks, they were good enough to play on Sundays.

Is that integral? You decide for yourself.

No. Mark Raugh was one of Oliver Luck's favorite receivers. He led the team in catches in 1981 and is 13th all-time for catches in a season.

We've had several good ones since Braxton played TE his senior year (1970), including Nate Stephens, Randy Swinson, Mark Raugh, Keith Winn, Sean Berton, Lovett Purnell and Will Johnson.

This is the first time I've posted in the Soap Box for several years but I just have to say one thing to everyone who thinks the Mueller investigation hasn't found out anything.

Here it is:

In the first year, Mueller has obtained 17 indictments and 5 guilty pleas and no one outside of his team really knows what other information he may have. Just because he doesn't call Sean Hannity every night to report on his progress doesn't mean he isn't making any.

I don't care what side you're on, to say the investigation is over and nothing has been found goes way beyond delusional. Hell, they investigated Clinton and Whitewater for 7 years. Iran-Contra took 6 years. Even the Valerie Plame leak took 3 years to investigate.

So keep your pants on, boys and girls, put down your Twitter phone and turn off talk radio and the 24-hour news. This show is only just beginning.

Oh, BTW, they lost 8-5 to TCU to play themselves out of a winning Big 12 record, and, yes, they walked in three runs.

Attention WVU pitchers: This is called HOME PLATE.

In the future, please try to throw the ball over it, especially with the bases loaded.

If I'm counting right, we've got room for him with Sags coming back:

2 spots from Carter and Miles

1 spot - Routt back to walk-on

3 spots - Hunter, Bender, and Allen leaving

Yes, that's correct.

Returning (7)

Ahmad
Bolden
Harler
Harris
Knapper
Konate
West

Recruits (6)

Culver
Doomes
Gordon
Haley
Matthews
McCabe

Walk-Ons (2)

Routt
Horton

That's 13 scholarship players if Konate returns and 12 if he doesn't. No problem.

10. Sags doesn't speak good English, so when NBA coaches at the Combine tell him to "hit the road," he thinks they mean he's made a roster and they're playing an away game.

He stays in the draft, loses his college eligibility and is forced to play in the Tajikistan Developmental League for $18 a game plus driving the team bus, all while taking anger management classes on the side -- at his own expense.

Blurk Williams sends his condolences and WVU fans offer thoughts and prayers.

WVU 10, Virginia Tech 5

After beating Pitt, Penn State, Marshall and Maryland, the rivalry series is now complete (except they play Marshall one more time).
