Nah, it wasn't any of those guys. I don't have any problem with them whatsoever. I'm fairly hard to offend; however, this went further than offending me. This was a matter of my personal safety.

You've got mail. :)

I've been lurking for a while and just saw this post.

Please let the record show that I didn't leave because I was fair weather fan. I didn't turn in my fan card when I was MIA. I didn't hop off the bandwagon because we had a craptastic season. Believe me, I was just as die-hard as ever.

I left the Couch because I had been harassed by some weirdo on here and nothing was done about it for days. Nothing!Frankly, I can STILL find nasty posts on this board that should've been deleted, but I digress... The bottom line is that I no longer felt safe posting here, and, as a result, no longer enjoyed posting here, so I left. I considering joining other WVU fan sites, but none of them felt like home.

I do plan to return to the Couch in the near future. If I happen to return after a win, it won't be because I'm "hopping back on the bandwagon" because I never left the bandwagon. It will be because I feel comfortable here again. I really look forward to that day because I miss you guys a whole bunch. Well, most of you anyway... ;)

I really enjoy NCAA basketball, but every time I watch the NBA...no matter what team...I want to slam my head into the tv until the channel changes.

Anyone agree?

Totally.

Of course, I feel the same way when I watch the NFL. :

3 of the starting 5 were recruited by Huggs. and if you think Mazzula, Cam, Flowers, etc. would have been as good under Beilein you're nuts

I know Truck had major ups and downs in his career (mostly downs) but he was actually really good that year

great post, Huggs transformed Flowers from a guy I cussed on a every game basis to one of my all time favorite players. Beilein would have expected Cam to have been the next Pittsnogle, and when he realized Cam didn't have that range he would have been buried on the bench. Mazzula's going to shine for who ever he plays for, you don't teach what that young man has and you know no one is stupid enough to not use it.

Mazzula will be the coach at WVU someday. I hope he gets on the staff soon so he can transition in after Huggs retires.

Southie is EXACTLY right! He hit the nail on the head.

And Mazz being the next HC of WVU is my dream.

It's a win, and I'll take it. But as someone else said, it was an ugly win.

I'd hate to see this team with a different coach. If anyone can turn around this team, it's Huggs.

Sheldon is far more entertaining than the NC will be.

And I hope ND wins.

Bazinga! (For those who haven't watched the show, that means I was joking. )

Aw, crap. I was hoping they'd go with Paul Chryst. Watching pitt search for yet another coach would've been quite entertaining.

My friends and many WVU fans suffered through many of the 1980's - 90's bowl game defeats. We actually had a comeback to opposing fans that we were trying to lose a bowl game in each state. Anyways, I saw this stat and held my head up a little higher:

Northwestern has not won a bowl game since 1948.

I know a Northwestern fan. She's never mentioned this stat.

I think you're absolutely correct. All the teams ND played were vastly overrated. Furthermore, they barely beat pitt. Nuff said.

Now that's my kind of logic.

Mods, it would be awesome if someone could create a flaming leprechaun smilie. I would be eternally grateful, and I promise you that I would use it a whole bunch.

Yes, it would. However, I fear the resulting revisionist history that would make it sound like ND has dominated college football for the past 100 years, forgetting that they've been putrid since the Holtz years.

I've been extremely excited about seeing this ever since I heard Peter Jackson was making it. The LOTR trilogy is my favorite all-time movies (and don't ask me to pick just one). I wanted to see it BADLY on Saturday, but we were too busy. It's definitely on my to-do list this weekend.

As for the books... I've wanted the ones illustrated by Alan (Allen?) Lee for years.

Agreed.

What do you agree with?
88 is the couch police. That's what I was thinking.

I hate ND.

If they win the NC, the love for them will be worse than the love for the SEC. And at least the SEC earned at least some of their love.

Is pitt going to a bowl?

If so, my guess would be that one.

Frankly, it amazes me that people are using this thread to argue.

Good grief. Almost an entire classroom of first-graders was murdered. It was a senseless tragedy, and the victims were absolutely innocent. If you can't shed a tear over that, then bless your ice-cold heart.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected.

Don't blame him a bit. He'll have his diploma, and without Geno throwing him those heat-seeking missiles, it'd be kinda risky to stay.

Best of luck to you, Stedman!
