Pretty grim question considering with 2 weeks left in the regular season we still had a chance to make the conference championship game. We’re literally a few unlucky calls and a half a finger away from a top 20 rating while in a big boys conference.

I would much rather expect 8 win seasons in a conference where we play national power houses every year than to be in a conference where our biggest games are Memphis and SMU.

Don’t forget that we expected 7-8 wins a year in the big east before half the league left with Miami for the ACC. I still relive those magical 1988 and 1993 seasons thanks to You Tube.

I would love to celebrate more wins and bigger wins more frequently, and I think those days are getting closer. But there is no question I’m happier with 8 wn seasons with occasional upsets over Texas, TCU, and Okie Lite instead of 11 win seasons with wins over Memphis and South Florida. Our national perception is much better and our wallet is much thicker.

Not happy with Spav. We have a stud pocket passer QB. Why put him in harms way with a bootleg on 3rd and inches? The worst scenario happened and now we get to play Oklahoma with our JV team.

If we’re going to be in a sh!t bowl, let’s play AZ. I’d rather have a storyline against an old coach than play some mid- tier boring ACC team.

Very good points above, but I'm predicting a different outcome. My prediction is that Iowa State comes out and plays a great game, focusing on what has helped them beat two Top 5 schools. However, WVU comes out and plays to our potential, to give us a 7-point win.

Based on how we have played each game, we have the potential every game to beat the best teams in the country, and also lose to the worst teams in the country (i.e. Pitt). I think this game we finally play a complete game and beat a good team with our kind of 31-24 outcome.

Side notes:

Grier had a bad game against OSU. Everyone is allowed a bad game. He learned from it and we all move on.

WVU rush defense makes a huge improvement this week, mostly because they don't have to be concerned about Mason Rudolph.

TCU is not a Top 10 team. Thier qb is average at best and missed a ton of easy passes today. They couldn’t score today without our help and thier Techmo Bowl playbook.

Overall our D played very well. Holes needs to find a way to win against ranked teams. We got screwed a few times by bad officiating, but still had too many miscues that you can’t have against ranked teams on the road.

We’re a decent team - not top 10, but can compete in this league. Holgs needs to find a way to get us over the hump.

I think this game is more winnable than people seem to think. Here’s why:

1. TCU home field advantage is not much of an advantage. Capacity is only 50,000 and never seems very loud on tv. This is def one of the smallest stadiums we have left to play in this year.

2. TCU qb isn’t that good. He has been way over rated his entire collegiate career. Looking at his stats against OU, he had 228 yards on 20+ completions. This tells me he doesn’t throw downfield much. I think we can focus on stopping the run and make The Trill be the one to beat us.

3. Defense is good but not great. Okie Lite put up 500 yards on the frogs but lost because of 4 turnovers.

Don’t get me wrong, this will be a very difficult game, but if our D can stop the run and our offense plays as we have been, this will be a W for the good guys.

We shouldn’t be shocked to see ignorance on the field or on tv after 8 years of a dickless president. We knew the left would would lose their **** once we got a president that stands for something other than gay rights and apologizing for being American.

Trump was 100% right with everything he said and I’m glad he said it. Athletes and tv stars are there to entertain - I don’t give a **** about their politics....but now that they are forcing their ignorant views down our throats, is rather watch something else or find something else to do.

If others, like me, stop watching NFL games and cancel Direct tv Sunday ticket, we will put a nice dent in ratings and profits. At that point we’ll see whose side Goodell and the owners are on.

Don't confuse the alt-right with the Right. The Right denounces white-supremacists. The Left never denounces Antifa.

Yesterday we got to see the different ways the Left and Right protest.

Ben Shapiro spoke at Berkeley. This resulted in riots, multiple arrests, and therapists provided to help the left cope with the fact that others have different views.

Chelsea Manning was scheduled to speak at Harvard. This resulted in several people (i.e. Mike Pompeo) removing themselves from the situation.

These clear examples show how obnoxious and entitled the left has become and why they cannot be taken seriously. I only listen to the left and watch CNN when in need of a good laugh.

Next year's schedule is the kind of schedule that could get us into the playoff, even with a loss. Beating a big program like Tennessee in week 1 and beating a rising ACC team in week 3, on top of home games against OU and TCU will go a long way......not sure when our last wins were against SEC or ACC though, I know it's been several years...

As for this year, I think we'll see the Defense improve with more reps and help from the offense...10-2 is very possible.

I would hold off on predicting a 10-win season for now. Our offense is loaded and fun to watch, but our defense struggled mightily against a VT offense that Delaware held to 2 touchdowns and 300 total yards.

Let's not forget we just beat up the worst team in FBS and this week play the worst team in FCS, followed by the worst team in Big 12. We won't have a good idea of who we are until TCU.

We haven't beaten a ranked team since 2013, so I need to see us beat someone before I jump on the bandwagon this year.

What impresses me the most about this list is that this shows us to have net income ~$20 million. This is very impressive, especially considering the travel expenses we have that many other programs do not. Teams on here like Virginia Tech are actually in the red and don't have the same travel demands we have. Louisville is barely breaking even.

This is testament to the great job our AD is doing with managing expenses. The future looks bright for our program!

Didn't care what that piece of **** said the past 8 years. Sure as hell don't care today. His bracket should be repealed and replaced by Trumps bracket.

Agreed on Shorts. He was way under-rated....great hands and always reliable. I hope he gets a shot in the NFL.

I like this receiver core and think it could be among the best in the Big 12 now that we have a qb that can throw it to them.

We can't lose the Florida pipeline. Doc built this up 20-30 years ago and we've maintained it ever since. Whoever replaces Seider needs to have FL roots, or we could potentially lose our hot-bed.

Miami is boring. Happy with the RA Bowl and was excited about all potential matchups except Miami. Should be an easy blow out win as long as we don't play down to our competition like yesterday.

In week 11 of 2014, Ohio state was ranked 14th with 1 loss. They finished the year with a win over a top 10 team (mich st), won the conference and made the playoff.

Slightly different scenario since they had the big 10 championship as an extra data point, but very similar by comparison with where we are. There is precedent that we still have a shot.

I think the ratings are very fair this week. Can't deny our best wins are against a trio of 4-loss teams. The commitee clearly gives high value to quality wins. If we win this week, we'll get a high jump in the polls (prob to 7 or 8). If we win out and ok st loses, we'll be a conference champ (also highly valued by the committee) with 1 loss and will have a better resume than osu/mich loser and Louisville, and at that time will be on the brink of a 4/5 rating.

I like the manual placement of the polls at this point. In previous years, last weekends chaos would have moved Louisville over Clemson and Wisconsin over Michigan, despite the head to head competition.

Oklahoma in the top 10 at this point doesn't make sense, but we will benefit greatly from that as it means a top 10 win for us if we can pull it out this weekend.

Relax. We're in a good spot right now and just have to keep winning. If we think we deserve a better ranking, we'll get it if we win this week.

I actually think the Big 12 is in a very good position with TV contracts expiring in 2024. I know everyone sees this as the event that will trigger the implosion of the Big 12, but I disagree for one main reason.

We are about to go through a major change in the way sports are watched. Fox, Disney, and CBS will no longer hold an oligopoly on football rights. New online competitors such as Apple TV, Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon are entering the market, and very soon, we will be streaming football on the internet, rather than sticking to traditional tv viewing schedules.

This means that when our tv contracts end in 2024, there will be more competitors bidding for our rights. This puts the Big XII in a much better position, then say the ACC, which is locked in their contracts until the 2030s.

Seems like perfect timing for our contracts to expire, as these new providers will be in full swing by then.

There are probably 100 different ways of looking at this, but to be concerned about contracts expiring 7+ years from now, knowing the game is about to change, just doesn't seem right. I'm betting on WVU coming out just fine.

I'm definitely happy to be 9-1 in our last 10 games, but I wouldn't say we've moved to the next level, or should be ranked higher than we are until we beat some ranked teams. We will have that chance very soon. Just keep winning.
