Are we sure we're fielding a team this football season?

Okay. I'm confused. I've been watching games and, ugh, SportsCenter for 4 days now and - maybe I've just missed it - but I haven't heard ONE mention of WVU by the talking weanies on ESPN. Not one. They just showed the game line-ups on the ESPN family of networks 5 mins ago, and WVU's game wasn't on there. Anywhere.

So, maybe we don't exist this year? Maybe all the stuff we've been seeing and reading is must "manufactured" by the powers that be at WVU to make us think we have a team this year. A game today.

I feel so duped.

wvsouth1 - I'm with ya! I've commandeered everyone in my house's laptop in case my antiquated desktop goes down while watching the game online... even one nanosecond of a bad feed and I'm ready with a wireless option. I do not want to miss one....

"TOUCHDOWN, MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The only thing better than that announcement would be having it preceded with something like...

... interception, Robert Sands! And he runs it back for a..... (insert previous call).

....Defenders are DIVING at Devine right and left...ahhhnother miss by a mile...uh, oh... don't give him any open field. Oh! Too late! (insert previous call)

HOW many more hours. God why couldn't we have a noon kickoff?

francisfelus, that ain't no "chip" on the mountaineers' shoulders. Nope. T'ain't. That thar is a lump of coal. Know what happens to coal when pressure is applied? Turns into a diamond, it do. And I hear Noel's got a lump tucked under them thar golden feet of his....

MountyinSC - "Just think how cool the banana slippers will look when they speed up the video highlights when Noel rips off a 75 yard run up the heart of sPitt's defense..."

Tooooooo funny! When I first saw the shoes, the first thing I thought (like you) was, "OMG, Noel's feet are going to look like freakin FLAMES burning down the field in those things!"

I like'em and really love the "Leave No Doubt" slogan.

NO worries - I saw it on Jane's list, too! I was just saying that I'd picked it as my favorite Jane suggestion, too.

I mean, really, I think Jane has a really good idea there for the Backyard Brawl...

This week will without a doubt be the longest week of the year. It will drag by day after day after day with Saturday seemingly out of reach. Will it ever come? Will we ever hear the thud of the kick-off??

I don't know about you guys - but I need some diversions. How, oh how, can I make the week go by quicker?? The only thing I've figured so far is to call in sick on Monday, take sleeping pills time released to wear off at noon on Saturday and go from there. Any other suggestions?? What are the rest of you planning to get your through the week? I'm sure SaneJane has some, uh, creative ideas - ahahahahah!

I like that quote - had never heard it and does, indeed, make me view running up the score a bit differently. However, the thing is - as always - how long do you leave your 1st string guys in to pad the stats but keep them from potentially getting hurt when they'll be needed more further down the schedule.

Now - put the less experienced guys in there and let THEM run up the score.

That's what I'm sayin'.
