Dang it...sorry! MOUNTAINEERS!

On a serious note, I'm super stoked about this game and this season. I've told several people early on that this could be WV's year and all I heard back was "whatever...you say that every year about basketball and football." Not true. But it's true this time.

On another note, glad to see our football program getting some early love from ESPN's "way too early top 25." They have us ranked at #10. Probably some kind of conspiracy to destroy the program.

Why do you hate the Mountaineers, Bob Huggins, and the state of WV so much?

The thing I hate more than not being ranked #1 is reading a bunch of crazy-a$$ posts about a bunch of nonsense.

talkoption, you got your point across. It's done now. Call your congressman and voice your concerns.

Most of what I have been reading this morning suggests that Nova will be #1 and we will probably be #2. After we lost to Texas A&M, many people were ready to write the season off. Now we are sniffing top 3. We can either be offended or we can enjoy the ranking and the week ahead.

"Teams ranked No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 5, No. 6, No. 7, No. 9 and No. 10 all lost at least once in the past week, including North Carolina (7) and Texas A&M (10) falling twice. Villanova and Purdue were the only top-10 teams not to lose this week. Six other top-25 teams also lost at least once."

False. No. 6 did not lose. Villanova and Purdue were not the only top 10 teams not to lose. Forgot about WVU!

I won't be calling my congressman, but the oversight pretty much sucks.

This topic has been beaten to death. It's like having a jaded girlfriend or something. He's been gone for a decade and his name is still brought up every time there is a coaching rumor. Why would any of us want a sub-par coach to come back to coach at WV? He has a completely different scheme than what we currently have and now he is tarnished by the current allegations. DH just signed a new contract and by all indicators, our team should be improved next year. Why in the world would it even be a possibility that DH would get fired and RR would come back?

Even if he did come back, I'm still watching WV football.

I'm looking forward to watching this game tonight. I'm curious to see how we play against a ranked team versus when we played against aTm.

Maybe we were slow because we were tired, but didn't Texas A&M make the same trip? Or did we take the long way?

Well, some people use the word incorrectly to mean something very ultimate. But I checked the schedule and we are their second-to-last opponent, so I am thinking they used the word correctly.

FYI - "penultimate" in this context means "second to last." Don't get too excited.

Proud of this team and it was a fun season to watch.

I was furious about the amount of time it took the refs to reverse the botched call. That was totally in Gonzaga's favor. It let them rest for the final few minutes. Some people might say "well, it let your team rest too!" but we don't need the rest. We thrive on the furious pace and controlled chaos. I think if that didn't happen, we win the game.

The last play was totally blown and makes me miss the clutch guys like De'Sean Butler. While we have great players, we just don't have that one go-to guy that we can put the game in his hands and know we have a great shot at winning. Maybe Carter will be that guy 100% next year...hope so.

Also, I'm not sure what time it was on the clock, but towards the end of the game, Phillip shot an off-balance 2 pointer and missed. I remember when that happened I was screaming "why would you take that shot????" It just seemed desperate and I felt like we could have waited for a much better shot. Maybe he was trying to draw a foul...not sure, but I thought that also contributed to the loss at the end.

Regardless...coulda, shoulda, woulda...Our players played hard and wanted it much more than any of us but came up short. The Zags played great defense and I hope they rot in hell. j/k. Very proud of this team and cant wait for next season.

That article says nothing substantial about Big 12 expansion.

It seemed (to me) that Harris and Henderson did one thing well and that was shoot threes. And that was even streaky at times. I can't remember, did they play much defense?

Lots of coaching positions at lots of schools can be stepping stones in an overall "great coaching career." I wouldn't read too much into it.

I thought WVU was the better team last night. We did have a bit of a meltdown at the end, but holy crap...the crowd there is wild as hell. If we played that game on a neutral court, we would have won. The fact that we went toe to toe with the #3 team in the nation in their house and lost by some questionable calls (and the freak Nathan Adrian screw up at the end) further proves that we can compete with any team.
