We can be competitive without Will. Our defense has to step up & Chugs is getting a free college degree, so he owes us something! Also Mayfield is a bit of an ass and they/he may overlook us.

What the hell is wrong with you, expressing positive thoughts and acting like the game hasn't already been decided? This thread is obviously for those who don't think we have a chance this Saturday.

Not to get too far ahead, but if Grier is gone next year, who will be starting QB?

My money is on Jake Allison the 4* Miami transfer, will have a season in the scout team, and will probably be pretty good. I don't really see Chugs starting, no offense to him at all. But I also agree with the general vibes that Grier will return for one more year.

If you think Grier agreed to come here because he could do one and done, it follows that Allison came here because he could sit out "Grier's year" and then have the job - or the opportunity to "earn" it...

Edit:

22nd in the AP as well. Big 12 has 5 ranked and 3 in the top 11. We should crack top 15 after we beat OSU

Don't think we'll move up 7 spots unless a lot of people between us and them lose as well.

Don't care how much we move up as long as we keep winning.

No...I'd say it depends on what happens with the other teams in the 20's.

2018 recruit 6'3" SG Trey Doomes (3*) from Ft. Lauderdale, FL, signed with the good guys on Thursday. Athletic 2-way player.

6"10" JUCO center Andrew Gordon from Northewest Florida State JC signed with the Mountaineers Friday. Looks like an athletic shot blocker, rebounder, and offensive putback kind of guy. 3 years of eligibility.

From the Charleston Gazette: " Huggins and staff are still evaluating other 2018 recruits, but are in a position to call it a day in this class with four commitments but only three scholarships expected to be open after the season.

Anyone else curious?

We are coming down the homestretch in the recruiting season. We picked up the LB Benton (Two more years with a LB named Benton) last weekend. That was the first JUCO commit out of 17 recruits, meaning that the coaching staff believes there are few immediate needs.

We are still actively pursuing a couple of JUCOs, the CB Jeremy Webb (a new Rivals 4-star) from NY and an offensive tackle from AZ. An OG from MS (Damien Lewis) has us high on his list.

For high schoolers, Kwantel Raines has scheduled his official visit for the Ok State game. He will commit the Monday after. That is a good sign for us. The Ok State game is probably our biggest home game on the schedule this year. All seems quiet on the fronts of Blaine Scott and Zakoby McClain. I think Scott may have scheduled his official too. TJ Banks recently visited UCF, but all signs still point to us. All 4 of them are looking more solid toward us with each passing day.

I have to think McClain, Raines, and Webb would finish the defense. Cooke may be plan B at CB if we don't get Webb. Scott and one more lineman (the JUCO, Goss, Ezeudu, Tenuta), along with Banks would probably get the offense close to done too. They might shoot for one more WR. If we get all of those guys, then we would have 8 guys with 4-stars in one recruiting service or another (Stills, Brown, Lowe, Raines, McClain, Webb, Scott, Banks). Joseph Scates still has us in his final 2. He would make another, but I don't hear much from the WVU side about him. If they all get to campus, that would be our best recruiting class in the star-era, hands down, at least on paper.

10-0 Clemson Q1. Meanwhile, Troy is shutting out LSU in Baton Rouge 17-0 in the 3rd quarter.

Anyone watching Texas Tech - OSU? Cowboys don't look near as good as they did the first couple of weeks.

Sideline reporter on radio said he wasn't hurt. Didn't know why he's not playing.

Sure hope it's not a head case situation.
