I wouldn't have the WR so highly rated. There were a lot of missed blocks (one missed by Bailey is the reason Buie is hurt) and Holgs said they weren't getting on their routes quick enough.

What's Marshall's defense supposed to be like?

It amazes me how he tries to connect the WVU-JMU game to the MU-VT game. Two completely different programs in two completely different situations going in two completely different directions.

Of course their AD wouldn't move the game to DC. Marshall fans can't even fill up their own pathetic little stadium; how in the hell are they going to travel to DC?

Can't believe you're going to pick on Obama for making a few mistakes after all the **** that comes out of Republicans' mouths. For one thing his daughter turns that age in just a few days. He was probably just rounding up since it's so close; I've seen lots of parents do that.

Since we're going to pick on politicians for little screw ups in speeches, did you hear about Bachmann bragging about John Wayne being born in a town near her own? Well she was right...John Wayne Gacy that is.

Landon has really crossed the line this time. His entire article is made up of unconfirmed reports and allegations. What's worse is other media (Pitt Post Gazette for one) is starting to run with Landon's article like it's gospel truth or something. I wish someone from the university would come out and challenge what Landon said.

Why do we assume Christianity is the true religion? I think there are at least an estimated 10,000 religions in human history, so what makes the Christian one correct? If we were in Saudi Arabia right now we would be talking about Allah and Islam. All religions say they are the true one. Only one (or none more likely) can be correct.

No, it's clear, accept Jesus as your lord and savior, ask him to forgive you of your sins and in the letters to the Corinthians Paul spells out what is acceptable and unacceptable behaviors. The issues becomes when some churches in the sake of attendance and endowments start making things ok just because the rest of society now sees it as a norm. I don't have an opinion on what living in sin is and what's not living in sin, Jesus makes it very clear.

Brobison said it first, but the steps to salvation are unclear. For instance, the Catholic church demands their members be baptised, yet many Protestants say baptism is an option to demonstrate your faith. What's more is both use the text of the Bible to prove their points. That is where it becomes unclear.

Southie,

Although I'm sure nearly all Christians agree on those two things, exactly what living in sin means, and what is necessary to be "born again," is probably a bit different from denomination to denomination. That's part of where the Bible is unclear, or at least subjective.

If it's that clear, why are there so many denominations?

Finally, about these "translation" issues. If God can step in and write a book over 800 or so years, if he could create the universe in 6 days, don't you think he could get a book into my ("my" not being literal but a worldwide "my") hands in my language with no translation problems? Since he is sentencing me to an eternal life in in hell a priori don't I at least deserve a book that doesn't appear that a group of buffoons over 800 years have written it?

Great point. If this book is supposed to hold the answers on my eternal destiny, and is inspired by an all-powerful God, it should at least be clear.

It seemes like the only reason we're on that list is because we burnt couches after a few wins in the mid-2000s. That doesn't make us bad fans in my book; it makes us passionate.

Read some of the other teams' bios. Some are truly horrible, like harassing kids and throwing bags of urine. Read the LSU one about how some girls from the student newspaper went undercover as opposing fans and were physically and verbally abused the entire day. I think we're pretty tame compared to a lot of these.

I agree with your overall points but the witch trials (throw them in water, if they drown they were innocent, if they don't they're a witch to be burned at the stake) are a continuation of the Catholic Inquisition practices. Nothing new or improved there, people are essentially more evil than animals.

Well, maybe not chickens. Female chickens will peck another female to death for obviously not much of a good reason.

On a more interesting note, collagen DNA from a well preserved T Rex was compared to a variety of modern animals and most resembled a chicken's DNA, with ostrich being second.

I don't know what that means other than birds are descendants of dinosaurs, actually are modern day dinosaurs.

Dinosaurs were pretty nasty but still behaved better than people at witch trials.

I agree with you about the Trials. I guess my point was that Protestants can't say they are any better than Catholics or vice versa. Both sides are messed up and hypocritical.

no where does it really say it but u know how the bible is thanks for not being to critical.

but being protestant u know i believe that he died so i wouldnt have to sacrifice animals for my sins and all that.

but idk im just so anti-catholic. there the largest private property owner and they control there people with priests. i dont need a middle man to god. and the crusades that was the catholic church just trying to get more money/ land. and its almost like what the Muslims r doing now.

I'm an agnostic but I work at a Catholic Church as a teacher, and I can tell you most Catholics would find your comments pretty offensive. You're judging them from the Middle Ages. Protestants are responsible for a lot of crimes too (see Martin Luther's thoughts on Jews, or the Salem Witch Trials).

Also, they do not control their people with priests, and the reason they own so much property is because they are united together under one organization. If Protestants did the same, they would be right up there in terms of property ownership, but instead they're split into many sects.

I couldn't imagine a worse region to be in. Clemson isn't a bad team, UK will be out for us (My aunt from KY texted me and said they have us circled for revenge), and there are 3 other Big East teams in our region, all of whom beat us this season. Ohio St might be the best matchup we have, if both of us get that far.

Is it just me or, despite all our success in basketball, do you get the impression WVU is looked upon as second tier compared to Pitt, Syracuse, UConn, Georgetown, Notre Dame, and even UL? It seems that there is so much hype surrounding those teams year after year despite the fact WVU always finishes right at the top along with them.

I would like to see UCF in the Big East, but let's wait and see what happens with the Big 12. A lot of schools are unhappy with the Texas TV deal, and there is a possibility the conference could splinter even further. I would much rather grab Kansas and Missouri over UCF and ECU.
