I did a Google search for "Williams" and "blurk" and had trouble finding results. Either Google doesn't like your site or it thought "blurk" was a misspelling.

19th. Depends on whether Grier stays healthy and how the defense does.

A Tennessee site expects to lose. They think their defense will take some time to find itself. :

there are a ton of unknowns on the Tennessee defense. Those unknowns certainly won’t be answered by week one, either. The Vols replace four contributors at cornerback and still need a consistent pass rush to emerge. Frankly, the answer to those two question marks might not be on the roster yet.

Tennessee will also be in game one of their new defensive scheme, which will feature a 3-4 base. That defense got ripped in the spring game by Tennessee’s first team offense. Plenty can change through camp, but on the surface this seems like a worst case scenario matchup for Tennessee — at least on one side of the ball.

He won the Republican primary for Senate in New Jersey:

In the contest for the Senate in New Jersey, the Democratic incumbent, Robert Menendez, won his primary and will face Bob Hugin, a pharmaceutical executive who easily won the Republican nomination.

A couple lucky breaks in B-ball and team could win a National title. Cant think of anytime ever, where we had two potential number 1st rounders and maybe a second rounder on the team. I don't see any weakness on team, except maybe guard experience. Obviously losing JC is huge.

If the new guards perform well, the sky's the limit. Last year's team was ranked 2nd at one point and, if it weren't for their propensity to blow double-digit leads, they'd have had a very high ranking before the tournament.

This year's team should have significant improvements in several places over last year's. If Konate improves half as much as he did between freshman and sophomore year, he'll be great. One or two of the new guys could be very good. There will be a lot more depth -- no playing two guys 35+ minutes. More length. But, as you said,

Man, our sports teams are gonna be good this year... how's women's soccer and rifle looking?? At least we know we can count on them.

The women's soccer team did well in pre-season. They lost their superstars two years ago and graduated a lot of people last year, but should be good. Rifle had its 5-year championship streak snapped (had a bad day at the NCAA and Ky, whom WVU defeated twice during the season) had a good day and beat them. But, they still have 3 returning NCAA champions on the team.

NewsOk correspondent didn't like OSU/WVU game:

https://newsok.com/article/5595788/coa ... itizing-big-12-tournament

“OSU started a kid with zero starts this year on the mound. He was gone by the middle of the second.

West Virginia pulled their starter after three, he hadn’t given up a run and six pitchers later their starting left fielder got the final out.

“They are putting the screws to the fans. They send a horrible message to their own players. OSU, Texas Tech (the best offensive team in the league) and Texas players were horribly disengaged. Why would we expect them to be, when your coach sends the message by his pitching choice that the game doesn’t matter?

“The length of the games becomes unbearable due to ineffective pitching and endless pitching changes. The late game Wednesday night started 2-1/2 hours late (and ended at 12:30 a.m.). The OSU-West Virginia game had nine errors, three balks, four wild pitches, 12 combined pitchers, 360 pitches and WV’s starting left fielder finally, mercifully got the last out on the mound. It was the worst-played game above pee-wee baseball I’ve ever watched. It was a damn shame someone had to win it.

With Sags back and the six new guys, should Huggins be fired if WVU doesn't make the final four?

(PS, before anyone takes this post too seriously, it is a joke making fun of the similar posts about Holgorsen. )

In that series, WVU pitchers gave up 24 walks in 25 innings.

WVU defeated TCU 4-3 at TCU, breaking their 6-game win streak, despite stranding on the order of 14 baserunners. WVU had 14 hits and 4 walks, and TCU made 4 errors.

WVU up 13-2 going into the bottom of the 5th at Kansas. In the top, with bases loaded and 3-2 count, the Kansas pitcher threw ball four, but the ump called it a strike after a long delay. The batter already had 4 RBIs in the game.

Harris started for Michigan State, which isn't bad. I imagine he must have started playing defense.

Yep, I think its 50/50 he leaves, could be lottery pick next season, or certainly could go 2nd round this season.
Obviously, you go 1st round then the NBA team, will give you at least two seasons to show you can play. Second round pick and you are expendable, they can bury you in D league and really never give you a chance for big minutes.

I wonder what the factors are:
i. training. In D league there would be more time for basketball than in college. How would the coaches compare? How would in-game minutes compare? How important is game time vs practice time?
ii. Money. A 1st-round draft pick makes lots more money than someone in D/G league -- Millions vs around $50,000. The issue is what a G-league player would make if he made the NBA the next year. Under the collective bargaining agreement, rookies make between $15 M and $3 M (for two years), depending on draft position. New NBA players (0-years experience) make a minimum of 800,000 (for one year).
iii. life outside basketball.
