I think it’s Michigan v Kansas.
I just think Kansas’s talent + size beats Nova.
Between the two, I give Michigan a slight edge. Just not sure how Kansas will deal with Belein’s offense. But maybe that’s wishful thinking. But if they are hitting from outside...

Very brave to make a prediction. I just can't do it. You're just as likely, or more than likely to be 100% wrong. I admire your bravery, which inspires me to take the opposite. UM misses threes and loses, Villanova moves on and wins the whole thing...dammit, I said I wouldn't do that.

All you guys who rag on Huggs and think he’s a poor coach, you are just plain wrong.

I agree. Hugs is a future HOF coach and he has us in the national spotlight every year. He has us in the tourney almost every year, and anybody who gets into the field of 64 has a chance to win it all. This year, I am pretty darn sure that I was able to watch every WVU BB game on national TV here in SC. That is something that I do not recall ever happening before.
My only regret about him is that he is in his mid-60's and who knows how much longer he will be coaching. It takes a heck of a lot of searching and just plain blind luck to find a young up and comer to take the place of a guy like him. Frankly, we have been spoiled. The good news is, we apparently have him for at least another couple of years.

Not that we’re having this conversation right now, but Huggs has put us in a position that when he hangs it up, we will be able to attract just about anyone we want, within reason. I think he goes 2 more years, 3 maybe. I think the two leading contenders to replace him (though I would like to see them be HC in D1, even low-major) would be Patty B or Darris Nichols

Perhaps the heir in 5-10 years is closer than we think...like about 15 miles away close?

I'm trying to figure out how 2 turnovers and 2 fouls can possibly cancel 18 points and 10 rebounds? Why are you complaining about him? He had a double double.

Guess I just don't like him and his apparent lack of work ethic. Maybe just angry bc it feels like lost potential. He could be dominant. Instead his 18 inch hands seem to be buttered. I wanna like him, but I just can't.

How much of the double double came when everyone else was sidelined? Before we pulled away, he was a liability.

West had 5 and Ahmad had 0 against UK when we lost to them in meltdown fashion. In the most recent loss to KU in the Big12Tourney, they combined for 0 points. If we are going to beat those teams we need those guys to step up. Its one thing to flex your muscles at Marshall, but Nova wont be so easy. We need those guys to be productive on O in the big games against top level teams.

Nova is going to have it hands full with us regardless. I looked at their schedule and I dont think they would be a 30 win team in the big 12. No effing way they would.

Perfect post IMO.

Several here have complained about Lamont West; bad attitude, etc. Last night his stats read: 18 points, 10 rebounds, 60% FG (6-10) and 43% 3PT (3-7). His extended playing time due to the unfortunate injury to Harris. I would say the young man stepped up when called upon; stop complaining.

The 3 turnovers on the stat line are very understated. He gave it up MUCH more than that. Say what you will, but he was easily the sloppiest player on the team and easily cancelled out every point he scored. Hey, we need that stat....net points. Where's Talk when you need him?

Per ESPN; http://www.espn.com/mens-college-bask ... boxscore?gameId=401025865

He only had 2 turnovers but he also had 1 blocked shot so... I thought he played a good game considering the injury forced him into more action than he usually gets.

I get your point bud, but if you watched that game, it was much worse. For example, the multiple clumsy, non-top recruit drives that ended with offensive fouls. He should be better than that sloppy garbage by now.

I like to think they can smell it now and their desire to win it for Huggs and our great state gives them the same mentality as UMBC in the first round....hungry. Close, but Carter finishes the game late with a drive or foul shots.

Not sure, but as soon as he came off the bench the talent difference became ridiculously apparent. That's what I would like coming on the court.

I reiterate. Imagine a tennis ball in your hand. That's how he feels but still can't hold on. I wish he'd foul out at this point. Put a practice squad guy in.

1st half thoughts:. Esa is a waste of talent that seems to think he's too good to have to learn or work. West is starting to get it and will be a killer next year. All others...carry on.

Not too worried about Marsha being more amped for this game. In , September that may be a problem, bc, hey, what's the point? But both teams are playing for the Sweet 16 in this case...larger carrot on the string than being champ of Friends of Coal. We never did give a crap about that.
