Well, Miami and Clemson will play each other in the ACC championship game, so one of them will drop. Auburn and Alabama loser drops, and then will play Georgia in the SEC CC game. Gonna laugh my ass off if Miami beats Clemson, putting Miami in and Clemson out. Alabama loses to Auburn, putting the SEC champion in, and Alabama in, and Wisky loses to whoever in the Big 10 CC game, giving the B1g NO teams in. So SEC - 2
ACC - 1
B12 - 1
Pac - 0
B1g - 0

That is a definite recipe to get to 8 teams sooner rather than later. B1g getting left out, and getting 2 teams in from the SEC or ACC would be a big step to an 8 team playoff.

couple cool videos of WVU incoming freshman Jordan Mccabe.

On ESPN as a kid

This one's funny. Kid has "IT"

9th grade... wow

This could very well be our PG next year. Let Bolden play the 2 guard, and spot up. He grew 2 inches to 6' after committing to WVU, but still undersized. Very fast hands and great vision.

Bender is a wasted scholarship. I did NOT see that coming when he was being recruited. He looked pretty skilled. Routt looks much better to this point, and that's saying something.
Konate is a monster. I haven't seen anyone this good in the paint since D'or Fisher. I hope he can do this good against Big 12 bigs. His continued development and success, and Daxter's consistency are the keys to our season, until Esa gets back.
Carter has to either take over towards the end of games, especially if we start going stagnant, or give him a little rest late in games. He's been a little sloppy when he's gassed. Staten never seemed to have that problem.
Things look a lot better today than they did after Germany. Long Beach State was actually ranked #26 in the rpi before this game. We were #126 lol. LBS isn't bad.

Didn't see a thread, maybe I'm blind. What channel is the game on, and can someone post a link to watch the game?
This is going to be harder than we think. LOL i think rpi's set up something like WVU - 112 rpi vs LBS - 28 rpi. so....

Next year? IMO, there is no question he comes back next year. You think he goes pro? From a 7 win (or 8 with the bowl) team? Nope! he will not go high enough in the draft to make it worth him going to the NFL. In fact, the silver lining might actually be that his injury makes him more likely to return next year. I didn't think there was much chance for him to leave before the injury. There are going to be too many great QB's in the draft next season. I believe the injury actually may seal his fate to remain a Mountaineer for another year.

i agree. too small a body of work for Will. If he declares, I'll be suprised. I don't think he would go in the first round, possibly fall to the third or fourth. This QB class is loaded, and that's assuming that some Jrs don't declare. He is financially secure, so there isn't a pressing need like there was with Elijah Macon.

I'm not at all convinced that "Magic" Bender will ever be what he was supposed to be. He was supposed to be a skilled and talented big man. Another skilled European tall dude. He should have been able to score at will against an undersized American front line, yet, we saw nothing. He seems intimidated by the college game, and that doesn't bode well when you look ahead at the teams we have yet to play. If you can't do it vs American, and look nervous trying, God save you when you get in Big 12 play. Konate and Teddy Allen look like they have the needed confidence to be at WVU. Both are young and still learning, but don't seem intimidated at all. Allen reminds me of what J. Paige would have probably looked like as a Freshman. Lacking on Defense, confident as hell on offense. Routt also looked like he was comfortable. The trick will be if he can do as well vs guys his size. I honestly think that is one of the biggest keys to this years success. Having a 7 footer that can at least hold his own vs other Big 12 teams. The biggest key to this year's team is going to be the consistency of guard play. Meaning we will rise or fall with the play of Carter and Miles. That is scary. Daxter Miles and Consistency are nowhere near each other. And they need to be for us to win. Hell, even Carter (offensively) is streaky.
We need Ahmad back bad. Huggs has probably his toughest coaching job in front of him this year. No problem players that i can see, but a lack of players and experience will test his ability to teach kids that want to learn, instead of trying to teach kids that want to be lazy and pout, as in Staten's freshman year. I think he gets it done, ends up a 9 or 10 seed by year's end.

Got an email earlier from 247sports or something that said breaking news, in state star commits to mountaineers. Anyone have any idea who this is? I'm not an insider, so i couldn't read it. Anyone know?

Edit: I figured it out, it's Martinsburg DL Tavis Lee. He's going to play LB at WVU, unless he gets a lot bigger. That's the plan, anyways.

I love Pat White, the football player, but I've never really been a big Pat White, the person, fan. No, I don't know him personally, but, he was supposed to be a leader. Was a leader on the field, but not necessarily off of it. A lot of things he has said, and the way he has said them, have left a bad taste in my mouth, so to speak. Reminds me of a pampered child that needs changed. lol. Love Owen. Nothing will change that. Steve, I don't guess I have an opinion about him. I'm away from WV, and haven't read where he's said anything either good or bad about WVU in a long time..

Texas is always a tough matchup for WVU. They have a natural advantage over us in any given year, from talent alone, but have been handicapped in recent years with either a lack of coaching, bad qb play, or the administration's lack of confidence in Coach Strong having an effect on their confidence. Even so, they are still always prove to be a tough matchup. Big line, talented and big RB, and elite talent are three things that always make for a tough game on our end.
For what it's worth, I think firing Strong was a bad move. I honestly think he needed time, just like Dana did, to adjust and learn on the job. I realize that Coach Strong had been a head coach, whereas Dana hadn't, but alas, WVU is not Texas. Nowhere near the same pressure and expectations at UT.
What is your take on that, HookEm? I'm guessing you like Coach Herman, but I was curious to see if you think Charlie would have been ok, had he been given more time.

WVU actually gained some 60 or so odd votes, up from last week. What had to have happened was This: There are less votes for teams outside the top 25. Teams that were also receiving votes last week, must have either lost or won big. meaning, for instance, we won, went from 190+/- votes to 250+/- but a substantial ammount of the votes that went to teams not in the top 25 (also receiving votes) last week, are now spread out in the current top 25. We got 60 or so more votes than last week, but other teams in front of us gained a larger % than we did, so we actually dropped one spot. It's a little ridiculous, but we are gaining votes. It's just this week less votes were scattered around to random teams that aren't ranked. Did that make any sense?

ive seen carter miss quite a few of his rare ft misses, when the game is on the line, or very close to it.. A LOT.... he's and 87% ft shooter. Daxter is a 55% shooter ALL THE TIME, but at the end of a game, if Daxter is having one of those cant miss **** games, where he hits 7-8 fts with 19 pts, i think he's a better clutch ft shooter... BUT before all you trolls come out, im in SC, so i didn't see EVERY game last year, and Carters high pressure FT misses that come to mind are at Kansas a few times. but i now there are more. Having said that, i cant wait to see this year's squad crush Tampon A&M. just at thought about Carter's career shooting FTs vs Daxter's FTs. by far Carter is better, but his misses ALWAYS seem to be in critical situations... while Daxters seem to come in when he is having a cant make **** night.. like 4pts 0/8 for the line, 0/10 from the line and two put back layups... dude can dunk though... jesus, can Daxter Dunk....

Everyone standing around, being lazy, with the, "someone else will tackle him" bullshit. 60 yards later, they're all standing around, with the, "I thought you had him" look on their face.

Injured during preseason. Should be back against TCU.
