in that Phil Steele article.. who are the two Freshman STARTERS. amd who are the other two on the two deep? I got Pitts, 2 deep
maybe Ferms? 2 deep
Tonkery, who isn't really a starter, but should be on the 2 deep, either because he wasnt hurt yet, or because he'll miss maybe 3-4 games. who else?

The 4* Miami QB is coming to WVU after all per Mike Casazza. Jack Allison? Anyway, he changed his mind, and confirmed this via twitter.

Seems like he's saying the articles and **** like "the dark Noreen Rises" need to be either done away with, of, IMO updated regularly. Those used to be hilarious. And at one point, you could come here, look under articles, and find the ones that those of us in other states don't get in the Gazettte-Times, or national articles we just flat missed. I agree, but I'm not sure how Stanley feels, or even if he could if he wanted it done. It would take $ or a very witty writer that is a current member to offer their services & time for free. At least that's what I thought he was asking.

Uconn adds the most tv market money. Cincy renovated anippert. FedEx pledges 500 mil over 5 yrs & offers to sponsor FedEx Big 12 CG if Memphis in. Dennis Dodd, at meetings doing interviews says it's obvious it'll be Cincy &UCF. Boise would be financial disaster. WR have The LHN, absolutely no to the BYU baggage. No Mormons in Motown.

The other new dB is Elijah Battle.

I think we'll have a bad ass defensive backfield. More steady. Less impact full plays good AND bad.

Here's the writeup about UCONN vs everyone else wanting to join The Big 12.

http://the-boneyard.com/threads/uconn ... ook-at-the-numbers.85564/

Excellent read, and we'll researched. Can't stress enough two major points.
1. Fox wants to move east.
2. Potential viewers really matters. Just see Rutgers invite to The B1G

First, and I wish I had a link to the paper, but I don't. A UCONN grad researched UCONNs potential eyeballs, which is precisely what matters (ie Rutgers over WVU) and how UCONN compares to BYU and other potential additions. It isn't even close. UCONN adds more value by a lot, even over BYU, because TV contracts are all about potential eyeballs, and large TV markets, instead of actual fans tuning in. The Big 12 network (when it eventually comes together) will be in a lot more TV packages by adding UCONN than even BYU, even if you include every person registered as a Mormon in the entire country. I'll try to find the paper, it's VERY detailed, well researched, and convincing as hell.
I know a lot of Ppl disagree, but I think they should add Cincy, they've done very well in football for a decade, and just renovated Nippert Stadium. Solid market, solid football AND basketball.

Then, you take UCONN, for reasons above.

I honestly think 14 teams is what we need. The sooner we do it, the faster the new teams will ramp up their competition level. So for team 3, I think you goto Florida. We NEED a Florida team. I think UCF has LOADS of potential. Yes it will dilute competition at first, but if they are added to a Power 5 conference, they WILL get a lot better caliber Florida recruits. I know it's a largely commuter school, bug it is a HUGE school that will put Big 12 games on Florida TVs. Crucial for long term recruiting.

The final school, if it were me deciding, would be USF. You saw how fast they got good, just by getting into a BCS conference in The Big East. That is a long shot, and would only look like a good move in 4-5 yrs, and I doubt anyone will be that patient.

Boise will NEVER even be considered. BYU would cause a lot of friction with TCU & Baylor, not to mention the Sunday issue. My guess is that by inviting WVU, The Big 12 won't be looking west. So that leaves pulling an ACC school or two, which will never happen, though, Clemson & FSU would make more money in the Big 12. A LOT MORE when the TV money goes up because of who those 2 schools are. Houston would be ideal, if it wasn't in TX. They add nothing financially. More UT fans in Houston than UH fans I bet. Who gets in at 14, probably BYU. Unfortunate. WVU has as much of a national audience imo. And all 4 teams I wanted would beat Kansas next yr.

Thoughts while I search for that UCONN study?

While it's obvious that the players & coaches have reasons for doing it, doesn't mean that fans have to like it. I think it takes away from our look, and wish they didn't use them. Obviously, my opinion doesn't count any more than yours, but this is a FAN site, where FANS express opinions. Nothing more, nothing less.

I know, I know. I've rubbed some Ppl the wrong way by using one paragraph & long posts. I apologize. However, when I do post, it's mostly about real WVU sports talking points. I'm not talking about you, but I've even had some idiots say they don't even bother reading my posts because evidently they aren't able to take in real opinions in long posts. Evidently, that person prefers the quote ladder posts that taken together say absolutely nothing.

New paragraph! Seriously, I should try harder to take the time to write these posts correctly, if I want real people to take me seriously. Beer and strong opinions, combined with a shitty phone keyboard equals the long and varied posts I write somtimes. Too late to edit by the time I'm sober. Lol.

But what did you think of what I was saying about Dana and the administration's failures, if you don't mind talking about it. I'm highly disappointed in Lyons at this point.

Add UConn and add UC.... To hell with BYU... Also Texas HAS to turn the stagnant revenue disaster for everyone but UT into the Big 12 Conference... Hell well be OK either way. We pulled 6.6 million last yr from tier 3 rights. Texas, much more, but ESPN is hermoraging money because they over valued UT, and will never re-up. Conversely, Oklahoma only made around 1 million from their tier 3 rights.

UConn will bring money to the Big 12.. More importantly, it will bring HUGE Markets... It's a no brainier. It's laid out in detail earlier in this thread if you looked. UConn, ANDA it's inferrior football, will catch up, buy it is BR far the best option.

I'm really spit on either dragging UCF up, or taking Cincinnati. UC just renovated the beautiful Nippert Stadium, and is on par with a mid-tier Big 12 team. Good BBall. Coack sucks balls, but decent team. UConn is rock solid there too.

UCF is mostly a project to get into Florida. Help the conference as a whole with recruiting and is a HUGE University. Commuter U or not. The upside blows all other contenders away. It's basically FSU b4 Bowden took over.

Finally, if you goto 14, take the 3 mentioned, and absorb Houston. I know. No help recruiting. But I don't think BYU will EVER get the votes from Christian schools like Baylor and TCU. I'm also being told that Texas doesn't want them either. Right now, Houston has the best football team ANDA coach of all 4. Cincy has been consistently good for a long time. UcConn brings more "potential eyeballs" (market value) than anyone, including BYU, check the in depth research in an earlier post or online, and I truly believe that Boise State has NO SHOT. Houston and internal Texas politics is the wild card....
Sorry Memphis. Talk to Marshall.... Start a group and talk about it..

During the past 5 years, #WVU has 9 #NFLDraft picks in the first 3 rounds, most in the @Big12Conference #HailWV https://t.co/nlPa4wKRBA

Just give the man time. Don Nehlen. Frank Beamer. They both won, but took a while to get their message and type of players to become successful. We're just getting a taste of real talent, and Lyon's will blow it up... Setting WVU back years... The ONLY solution is to give Dana 3 more yrs to prove his value. If it doesn't work, and if Lyons quits the one yr coaches contracts and gives them raises on par with other schools makimg the same $ WVU makes, use the 3 yrs to groom Gibson or Seider to be HC. Losing either will spell certain doom. With the inexcusible loss of Mitchell (who just had 4 dbs drafted) for a verticle move to the Cookies, and Galloway going to Louisville for more money Lyon's refuses to pay, Im not sure WR & DB recruiting won't take a hit. BTW, though technically an OC, Galloway will not be calling plays.

Last year, we were a Will Grier, One more great pass rusher (Noble was a beast & is Big 12s leading returning sacker), and a true cover corner (#7 got burnt a LOTearly in the sease... A Lot. Ask OK. So we're looking at you Rasul Douglas and Antonio Crawford for next yr), and one freak injury to maybe our best player ever (Karl Joseph), away from the Big time season. Hell, Skyler would've succeeded with any pass protection and more passes to glue handed Dakiel Shorts. Waaaaaaay too many easy TD drops on wide open fly patterns by our young wrs didn't help. What really scares me, WAY more than Skyler, is if Shell will finally get it through his head that stopping to juke just kills him. That, vision & Balance Prolly kept him from gaining 1,200 yards last yr. And his backups are true freshmen with DTW currently suspended.

BTW, our LBs are BEASTS. And is there ANY chance that Tyrek Cole makes it back. Ever, to WVU? Whatever happened to WR Jacob McCrary?

Wonder what it was when u count the 5 stated and 11 FA guys WVU put in the league this year. Not all FAs will stick, BUT a couple will make it. So 17 drafted, 4 First Rd picks numerous picked in rds 1-3. Dana is, I think, the ONLY head coach to have 4 players drafted in the top 15 in the last 5 yrs. Not Saban, Not Fisher, Holgerson. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to win, and Dana makes mistakes. Not his fault punt returners have either sucked or ran away from the ball since Tavon. Also not his fault that receivers dropped more balls than most average middle schools. Gibby is being heralded all over, but 4 players drafted were on the defense.... How does he get a pass for having great players an somehow not winning? K State? Baylor? TCU? That was all defense. With NFL players. It's not all Dana's arrin. Worley was atecalive by OK. And most of the early year. The bowl game? Really? Dana's offense SAVED Gibby's D. Over and over again. My point is, we are becoming known as a school that puts players in the NFL. Lyon's needs to quit fking around with excellent assistants job security, pay the damn men like VaTec & Louisville for ex. And give Dana some more time. Damn. The great Nehlen took a long time to arrive, AND he never won bowl games. Rarely sent players to the NFL. DANA has more kids drafted now than ANY other coach at WVU. GIVE DANA A BREAK. STOP worshiping Gibson. It's acteam. We need to keep our Asst. Coaches, long term, with real money... Louiville doesn't have more resources, but can pay Lonnie over 500,000 more than us? C'mon. Shitty starting facilities on par with KU?, move to Big XII with a coach in his second year? Just now seeing results in draft. Took Don 20 yrs, Dana has put more in the league than Don. GIVE IT TIME FELLOW MOUNTAINEERS! Will is here. Set at QB for 4 yrs. More potentially great receivers than EVER, and Lyons has to stop his tinkering with contract lengths, and refusing to pay elite assts, what they're worth. JaJuan Seider, is he next. If so, I'm done. All of that receiver talent and u let the WR coach walk. 4 dbs drafted and you let the db coach go. Stupid. WVU will make MORE MONEY this year than any Big 12 school except UT, (tier 3, WVU 6.6m vs OK 1m) which should put WVU ahead of ANY ACC, PAC 12, slightly above the Big 10 [based on last yrs #s & expected increases] and slightly behind the SEC. NO WAY WE CANT PAY OUR EXCELLENT STAFF what these other schools are. How the f'k do you let Mitchell go to VaTech for the same position? How do you hire Joe Wikline, a line coach from lowly UT that lost his OC job in season be OC and let your wildly successful WR coach go to Loserville when clearly UofL isn't making more $$$$ than WVU is. I can't imagine ANY reason for this, other than an inexperienced AD messing with contracts, causing the loss of the best options we have to win, and defusing go step up to the Big boy table and spend some $ on talented coaches. BTW, ALL 5 PLAYERS DRAFTED WERE 3*s, including Karl Joseph, Daryl Worley, Nick Kwiatkowski, Wendell Smallwood, and KJ Dillon. Kevin White was too... These guys deserve better Mr. Lyons. Unreal.

Carolina!!!!! Awesome... I just hope he develops. He played aweful vs Oklahoma but seemed to get motivated and picked up his play as the year went on..Congratulations are due, regardless. Now, if he can get Josh Norman's job, I'll be happy! He'll finally play with a good pass rush. That will certainly help!

So we've got Baylor offering a landing spot for the type of people who are either rapers before joining the team "with BU's knowledge, and did it again b4 ever playing. Then current players doing it. Now VERY recent players doing it. The culture has to change, starting with the president, AD, and highest on this list, the coaches, who recruit and interview these guys more than anyone else. Not just Briles... ALL RECRUITERS. It's becoming evident there is major problem. And that is " win at all costs", which is even more disturbing since Baylor is supposedly a "Christian school"
