Self said B12 Champ could have 5 conference losses this year (before they played us).

I'm glad starting threads doesn't cost money.

But I do prefer this to the anti huggy crap from a bunch of insurance salesmen. Hat tip to Dandy Don.

I had to watch the game a few hours after it was over. That was fun to watch. Our motion offense had motion. Our shot selection, because our spacing and movement and passing was better, was so much better and we hit our shots. Night and day. The team I saw today, is the powerhouse team that scares the crap out of everyone. We got a little rattled handling their press, but even handled that well.

Good fun! Teddy, say you're sorry! Time to contribute to your team and help out your teammates!

That's some good inside poop. Do tell. More please. What kind of stubbon idiot doesn't apologize to a coach so he can get back on the floor? That tells me Teddy is dumber than dirt. Are you able to share more?

Good to see Huggs not give into the pressure.

Get it done Teddy. We all want you in the lineup!

Jesus, did Teddy bang his daughter or something? Does he just loaf in practice and pout? WTF? It's like he is suspended..

It's always good to hear the message board coaching brain trust weigh in on our coach's flaws here on The Couch.

What do the comedians say when they are being heckled? Hey, I don't come to your work and knock the dick out of your mouth.

Unless Teddy gets out of the doghouse, I could see him transferring out.

BTW, why did they keep saying Esa was out half the season on an academic eligibility issue? I thought it was substance related after the Gonzaga game failed a drug test.

The refs had no hand in our failure tonight. Our inability to drive and score did. Jumpers and perimeter shooting all night. That was a bad loss.

True. But they didn't also have to run to the court house to file their class action lawsuit.

By the way, for you legal scholars out there, and you know who you are:

Assault equals an intentional attempt to make physical contact;
Battery equals the actual intentional making of physical contact.

There has to be intent. Bumping into a person accidentally is neither assault, nor battery. Punching a person is battery. Attempting to punch is assault.

Neither punching, nor attempting to punch, is a crime if it is in self defense. Typically self defense requires an act be committed upon oneself and an effort to defend oneself.

If a stampede of rednecks runs you over carelessly, they may be negligent, but may not likely possess the requisite intent to have committed assault or battery. That doesn't mean a person cannot use force to repel an accidental force.

From what I saw of the video, Harris was bumped repeatedly (I didn't see that part, actually) and he got out of the stampede and then entered back into the fray by punching a person and then moved back out.

It did not appear to be an act of self defense to me, but rather an act of retaliation.

The B12 has reprimanded him and fined TT. This does not mean that the person who was punched cannot file a criminal complaint for battery against him which could be pursued by the local prosecutor, depending upon the desire to seek justice. Do they have enough proof? Does Mr. Harris have a valid defense? Etc. etc.

Will anything else come of this? Hopefully not.

Clearly court storming is dangerous and the schools need to find a way to prevent it in this incarnation of wild storming by having adequate security. Do they pepper spray the fans? What amount of force is appropriate to repel a stampeding hoard of rednecks?

Clealy, the B12 and/or the NCAA needs to find a way to sanction repeat offenders with some sort of fine/penalty with teeth.

The athlete should never have been put in that position, but it looked to me like a punk move to punch the passerby who was now moving on elsewhere. Retaliation is different than self defense. Are we not accountable for our behavior any more? Are we all just victims of whatever makes us angry and so we are justified in whatever we do?

I love my Mountaineers and I wish Wes Harris the best becuse he is a Mountaineer and a young man to boot, but what I perceived with my two eyes was a case of retaliation, not defense, and would usually warrant some amount of punishment. Because we are a civilation of people, not a forest full of animals. We are capable of rational, intelligent, reasoned behavior, even when under stress. To think a man incapable of self control, even under duress, demeans the man and demeans all men. I expect better of the men and of the people judging them. Mr. Harris is not a helpless animal who cannot control himself. He is a man, who must follow the laws of our civilization.

By the way, the stampede of rednecks was wrong too. Let's not give the wild horde a pass. Study film, identify wrongdoers and kill em all.

I just saw where the head official blew a late foul whistle on Harris for the punch. It was a flagarent 1 and Harris has to miss the entire Kansas game AND the student he punched gets flown to Morgantown for the next game and gets 2 free throws to start the game, plus 2 technical tosses.

We might start the TT game down four points.

This is so unfair to our team. I mean Harris was a helpless victim here. I'm just glad Wes didn't have a piece on him or he could have been the victim of a floor rush emotional distress murder killing that he committed AND we could be down 4 points to Tech in the next game.

Don't people understand that black people are instinctively afraid of rednecks in cowboy hats? And to have a whole redneck cowboy stampede coming right at you, I'm just glad Wes didn't instinctively, innocently cowpunch a shitton of redneck cowboy students. I mean, his nerves were frayed. He should have gone on an innocent cowboy punching spree in his fragile mental state. Wish he was armed so he could have defended the shit out of himself all up and down that stampede.

Never throw a punch in defense when a bullet to the head will do just as well.

Class Action lawsuit time against the Big12 and maybe Texas Tech. Some lawyer will pick this no-brainer up and carry it to justice.

For a college board, there is a lack of clarity in interpreting the facts. Groupthink runs amuck here with little understanding of how to view the situation from a clear-headed angle. Maybe brain fog from a bad diet or just lack of thought, not sure but I would relish a post that is not the usual lame blah blah blah and actually take a perspective of original thought.

Hey super genius, you have to have damages to a large class of people to have a class action suit. Please define the damages to the qualified class of plaintiffs Mr. Superior Thinker. If you are going to represent yourself as an intellectual who is above us mere group mentality Couch Slobs, why don't you say something intelligent and not completely ridiculous.

And just say it once, not 500 times in some sort of spiral of lunacy that brings obesity, flatulance, street crime, gerrymandering or some other ridiculous fucktardation into the mix.

The Big 12 is contributorily negligent by failing to put into place, at the conference-wide level, preventative measures that would better protect the safety of the student athlete from these foreseeable situations, such measures should include hightened security. Additionally, the seemingly light penalty imposed upon TT by the conference demonstrates a lack of sound management.

Harris should receive no punishment, as the B12 has taken little interest in this potentially very hazardous habit of court storming, at least not until it has become a powderkeg that has exploded.
