OK thanks - I thought I read four of our top eight returning players were not available for the early part of the season. Seems like that is not the case then. I hope Bolden is OK

Last year's team came very close to the national championship. They lost by 3 to Gonzaga, the 2nd-place team, in the round of 8 and Gonzaga lost a close game to NC. If Adrian didn't have a torn shoulder and Devin Williams had stayed for another year, WVU might have been 3 points better. I remember Adrian shooting a 3 early in the game and missing by several feet and thinking that it didn't look good. They were a good team and those 5 players will be missed.

Agreed, I still think Devin Williams made mistake leaving. He would of gotten alot of publicity like Carter is getting now, last year if he had stayed. It would have certainly helped his resume for overseas or NBA. Buddy Hield went from barely on Top 100 prospect list at beggining of Senior season to lottery pick. Now a doubt that would of happenned to Devin, but it could have definitely been better than what happened.

Worth noting that TAMU is 26th. That’s going to be a really tough opener, the boys will have to be ready, especially with the guys we have our. This game is by far the toughest OOC besides UK

I think the 10 ranking is saying that West, Konate and Bolder are the real deal. We shall soon see as their minutes expands.

Lost by 12, Carter scored 37. Purdue is going to be good this year. ESPN has them at 4 in FPI, and WVU at 12.

Well. A scrimmage is a scrimmage. Nothing like a game. I’m sure it was a good learning experience

If we can get past Texas AM on Friday, we could be okay till Virginia. (Should be okay at Advocare invit. Pitt picked last in ACC. @OSU and KSU are winnable, and then Ahmad should be back for 1/9 game against Baylor.

Williams with Maine Red Claws. Macon with Alba of Hungary.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devin_Williams

Devin Williams (born May 31, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for the Maine Red Claws of the NBA G League

After going undrafted in the 2016 NBA draft, Williams joined the Milwaukee Bucks for the 2016 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.[13] In five games for the Bucks, he averaged 2.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in 7.6 minutes per game.[10]
On August 9, 2016, Williams signed with Melbourne United for the 2016–17 NBL season.[14] Williams struggled to make an impact for United off the bench over the first month of the season, which led to speculation of him being released by the club.[15] That was not to be, and on November 6, he had a season-best game with 13 points and seven rebounds in an 82–73 loss to the Illawarra Hawks.[16] His next best game came on December 11, as he had a 6-point, 10-rebound effort in an 88–81 win over the Sydney Kings.[17] In the following game however on December 17, Williams went down with a knee injury early in United's 100–90 loss to the Brisbane Bullets,[18] and was subsequently ruled out for four to six weeks with a Grade 2 medial ligament strain.[19] On January 31, 2017, after fully recovering, Williams was granted a release from his contract to source opportunities to play in the US.[20] On February 14, 2017, he was acquired by the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA Development League.[21]
2017–18 season[edit]
In June 2017, Williams joined the Charlotte Hornets for the 2017 NBA Summer League.[22] On September 26, 2017, he signed with the Boston Celtics for training camp.[23] He was waived by the Celtics on October 5, 2017.[24]

Macon may play for Alba-Fehervar of Hungary:

Elijah Macon moves to Hungary and signs with ALBA

By Norma on September 13, 2017

Elijah Macon (205cm, West Virginia University ’17) has joined ALBA. He will make his start as a professional basketball player in Székesfehérvár, Hungary during the 2017/2018 season. The 23-year-old made the decision to leave the Mountaineers uniform and not return for his senior year. The Ohio native progressed in almost every category in the three years of his collegiate career. In 2016/2017 season, he averaged 6.3 ppg, 4.2 rebs, FT 63%, and FG 55%. Throughout the three year span, he managed to log a total of 518 points, 339 rebounds, 65 assists, and 46 blocks. All in all, he played a sum of 103 games, averaged 5 points, FG 52%, and FT 54% throughout his scholastic career. Macon stood as a top-50 player and a top-15 power

Hugs signed 4 year extension? I'm actually surprised, I thought he might retire after this year.
