It's a lot easier to beat Kansas outside of Allen Fieldhouse.....funny how that works @Big12Refs

Two things from last night:

1) Huggins said, " In six games when Esa comes back...". This puts Esa's return either Jan 6th (Oklahoma) or Jan 9th (Baylor). I am not sure if the exhibition game next Saturday counts. Huggins was referring to the amount of playing time the bench will be getting insinuating that with Esa coming back the bench playing time will get more competitive.

2) The one good thing about Esa being out is that the bench players have gotten more game playing experience.

They prob. reinstate Preston by the time Big 12 play starts.
Not sure what Self saw in Newman, he is not good at all.

West Virginia The Mountaineers have won nine straight games since their season-opening loss to Texas A&M. Their best win is a win over Virginia. ^1 9-1

Dear Daxter Miles,

STOP shooting Threes!!!

You are shooting 8 for 42, or 19% for the season so far.

STOP IT NOW!!!

Your job is to dribble drive and get inside the defense and then find the open man, hit a short 8-10 foot jumper, or attack the rim.

You can't dribble drive effectively if they don't respect your o/s shot. Miles is a career 33% 3 point shooter, my bet is by the end of season, he will be about 30%. Your going to need his o/s shot when Big 12 play starts.

The Villanova Temple game is sick to watch and looks all too familiar. Temple makes a run which is quickly turned around by a technical called by none other than Higgins. We're not the only ones to get screwed in games vs the anointed teams.

So I guess there was a basketball game today against a high school team not named Marshall and Magic Bender didn't completely suck?

Trae Young will be a Lottery pick. Looks better than Buddy Ball. His range is unbelievable, and has a quick trigger, but lacks size and explosiveness, otherwise I'd have him as top pick.

Bender had a good dunk at the end, but had 3 fouls in 8 minutes in the first half. In the 2nd half, his man scored on about 3 consecutive plays, but at least he didn't foul.
Allen had a nice stat sheet: 8 for 8 from the field, including 3-3 from the 3 (no foul shots) for 19 points in 16 minutes. Hunter finally got into a game and had 12 pts and 7 rebounds in 23 minutes.

On Bender, I was thinking he might get better, but realize you can't teach speed, just too slow. Rather have Routt out there for defense and rebounding.

Kansas seems vulnerable. Okie Lite got a nice win over no. 19 FSU and Oklahoma shocked Witchita State, so they should be joining the top 25 in both polls. Texas is just outside of the Top 25 and has tons of young talent and Okie Lite might be legit.

The B12 looking strong.

The AP Top 25 should have
WVU
Kansas
TCU
Baylor
TT
OU

With Texas getting a sniff.

60% of the league will be in the Top 25, comprising 24% of the rankings with Texas poised to move in over the next weeks.

Still super early in the season and these rankings are tough to gauge this time of year, but the B12 looks strong and deep.

Clemson will move in and Florida will fall out while always overrated ND should finally drop out. You can't convince me that Miami is a top 10 team. I don't care how long and thick they are (thats sounds dirty) you can't convince me Miami is legit. They are Miami and must suck accordingly, even though they have continued to improve in recent years.

It is going to be a great Big 12 season. If Iowa State finds a way to win without Hoiberg, this league could have 8 teams with sound tournament resumes. How many does the B12 get in?

That Trea Young kid has Steph Curry level shooting ability. He is shooting 48% from the field. That's unheard of for a 3 point shooter.
