Bob is a great coach but he could definitely learn more or focus more on how to manage his players and their egos as well as his own ego. He could also learn more about how to get the team to handle success better. Maybe he should have a chat with or study up on Phil Jackson.

I agree with both of those points wvudee. Huggs does too but he put it down to toughness. He said we'd rather shoot over people than to take it inside at them. I think our guys are plenty tough but he's making a point about what he wants more of. I/he also agrees about the fouling although we do more complaining about the refs and he comes at them about "stupid" fouls. Carter's hand on the Kansas shooters back jumps to mind. The hand did nothing, it shouldn't have been called but it was...remove the hand on future shots.

Phil's zen is an artform. I think Huggs is "old school" in this regard (for better or worse) in that he gives them enough rope to hang themselves and let's them learn from their screw-ups sometimes. This is like 4 seasons in a row we've got on a roll and then crashed and burned mid-season. Let's hope he can bring them back to where he wants them as in seasons past.

Its funny how after Texas AM game, fans where like we won't make tourney, then after the OU win, fans were saying we should be ranked #1 and overall number 1 seed, now after two losses, Coach Huggins needs some coaching lessons from Phil Jackson.
I think team regroups, and we finish 2nd or third in Big 12, with 24 or so wins and hopefully get favorable matchup once tourney starts. Expecting at least sweet sixteen, hoping for more though.

It's not so much that we are losing games ... it's HOW we are losing them.

It's what we SEE with our own two eyes.

I would be much more concerned if we didn't completely dominate both games for large portions. He's right about being uncomfortable at the top, let Kansas sit up there and get all the hype and just worry about the next game.

You people are ridiculous. First Teddy Allen. Allen could turn into a good player but we don't know yet. We will find out. But to think he is some kind of savior is insane. Coaches watch hours and hours of film. It is what they do. Do any of you honestly believe that Bill Self didn't watch film on Teddy Allen and devise a way to stop him? Until he develops an outside shot he is a one dimensional player and one dimensional players are very easy to defend. He caught people off guard the first 2 games in league play. That isn't going to happen again. Second Bob Huggins. We are lucky to have one of the greatest coaches in basketball history. But if you want to complain about one thing he does wrong let it be this: he practices the players too hard. You all complain that in the second half they aren't aggressive or that they stand around or can't shoot. All those things may be true but you are missing the true reason behind it. They are tired. You can't run or shoot if you have no legs or no wind. Hell, you can't do anything if you can't breathe. They play an incredibly taxing style of basketball and to have 3 hour practices this time of the year is an immense amount of overkill. It is no coincidence that they lost two big leads in the second half. They just ran out of gas.

Tsk, tsk....one dimensional? That is a very untrue statement. However, if the one dimensional was driving the ball, that is inherently 1,000 dimensions. Driving not the same as lobbing 3 balls.

Teddy IS that good and with him on the court Monday, we win.

If Hugs decided to sit Teddy for whatever reason, it invalidates everything Hugs (a leader) does to ignore it and play him in a tight game. Sends the wrong message to the rest of the team. You never sacrifice your position/principals to just win a game or overcome anything, especially one that doesn't really matter. All that matters is March.

Small sample size, and Teddy Allen didn't play last game, it's gonna take a little time to piece it together, though Esa has been a part of the program for this long, it's always a new team, new roles, no matter what. I'm totally fine not gelling in January if it means results in March.

Teddy will have to do what Hugs wants or he won't play. When he does what Hugs wants he will begin playing again. There are some things that Hugs doesn't yield on.

I was at the Baylor game. He took 3 shots. They were terrible. If he would have taken a 100 he might have lucked a couple of them in. He is 6'5. He was being guarded by a 6'9 guy. If you are the 6'5 guy and you can not take the 6'9 guy outside and shoot over him you are not going to score. Plain and simple. Teddy Allen is a situational player. He will do fine against the teams that don't have the size to guard him. Oklahoma or Iowa State or Tcu for instance. But against Texas or Texas Tech or Baylor or Kentucky he will be a nonentity. And that is fine for the young man.

Out of gas may sound good to you but this is not the case. It was playing poorly. With a big lead, they got complacent and started making bad passes and not continuing to play hard. The team is coasting and not taking the game seriously. Our team plays to the opponent's skill level. They do not play like champions and overwhelm a team. No killer instinct yet!

Bod does not have his team tired in the second half from overworking them during 3 hours practices. Are you calling Bog a lame coach that does not understand how to train his players? Sounds like too much speculation to make yourself sound important at the expense of Bob.

Please think before you go spouting off your opinions on Bob and how he practices our players.

Our team needs to set a winning goal and strive to achieve it. Example beat the opponent by the most points in Big12 play. We have great players but they appear not to be reaching beyond their grasp. How else are you going to reach "Almost Heaven" if you do not stretch yourself beyond your capabilities?

A good indicator of how well we are playing overall is looking at Lamont West. If he scores, we are untouchable.

I like Lamont West, but I'd have to say it was usually his guy he was guarding that was hitting the open three in the corner as he ran up to late to guard.
