Yep pretty much. It would take a special game from our players to beat OU. It will take a miracle on top of that to beat the refs. I predict a flurry of pass interference and roughing calls against our defense, if we can even keep it remotely close.

Dont forget holding on the o line and on any good punt returns.

And a defensive delay of game on a 4th and short to give them a first down during a critical part of the game

I mentioned playing OU and the Refs in the KSU thread. It would take a Fiesta Bowl type performance appearance to beat them again.

And, when all else fails, throw in an Offensive Pass Interference penalty or two.

Can't allow those long WVU completions in the fourth quarter.

Still think that a "defensive delay of game" is a classic...

I'm in the minority, but the delay of game penalty was deserved...one of our LBs clearly was barking trying to get the OL to false start.

If true, and I have no reason to question you, this was a legitimate call. I am a football official and I would have called it too. To many times we (myself included and before becoming an official) as fans don't clearly understand the "official" rules of the game then we go off like we know everything.
Trust me, an official does not want to throw a flag, we want the game played within the confines of the rules but, when you don't you're going to get penalized.

Have you ever called holding on a defensive lineman on a running play?

Seen it called twice in the B12 this year.

It is my understanding that the defense can neither clap, nor bark out noises and if they do it will result in a delay of game penalty. I have also seen this called twice this year in Big 12 games.

I have a vague recollection that one of the coaches, either Dana, or one of our opponents was complaining about clapping by defense earlier in the season. Maybe a coach complaining our defense was clapping. Anyone remember this? It's to mess with the O Line because so many QB's clap to have the ball snapped now.

True. As a basketball official I always tell coaches and fans, "I get a game fee. I don't get any extra fees for blowing my whistle. The game goes longer and there is more work for me. So if I blew my whistle THERE WAS a foul or infraction."

It isn't like I care who wins any of the contests that I officiate.

I think it was Miss State or someone like that clapping, and they've been able to demonstrate that their LBs actually use clapping as a communication tool.

Found it, this is the one I was thinking of from 2014...

http://www.detroitnews.com/story/spor ... s-msus-clapping/16885997/

On the Big Ten teleconference Tuesday, Pelini suggested his center and quarterback were having trouble with exchanges because Michigan State players were clapping their hands in an effort to confuse the Huskers' offense.

"That's something I'll talk to the league office," Pelini said.

The Cornhuskers had a couple of false start penalties and a delay of game in the loss in East Lansing, and the rules state that any attempt to "disconcert opponents when they are preparing to put the ball in play," should result in a penalty.

But MSU coach Mark Dantonio, when asked about it on the teleconference, suggested a different approach.

"In an environment like we had here, he has to look at the quarterback, I guess," Dantonio said. "I don't know. … From my perspective, we can move our people however we want."

After practice on Tuesday, Michigan State players and coaches dismissed the notion they were trying to throw off the Cornhuskers.

"If you watch us we clap our butts, we clap our hands, we raise the roof, we tap our heads," defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi said. "We've got little things every week we change it, but we've got different things we do. … We do it all the time."

Linebacker Ed Davis explained the linebackers often clap to let the defensive linemen know their positioning. He was insistent there was no other reasoning for the clapping from the Spartans.

It would screw up OK plan this weekend if we started Sills at QB, I mean it is a given that we have no chance at winning this, so at least make it interesting.

I ate 15 meatballs while watching WVU vs. TX this last weekend.

There's no place else to make this fact known. So here I am.

Thank you for your time.

just saw a tweet from Keenun Cummings welcoming a new transfer to WVU. TJ Kpan, RB from PA said he just received and accepted an offer to transfer to WVU next year. Not sure if he's getting a scholly or is a preferred walk-on. It's confusing. Looks like he is transferring from Seton Hill University, from what I can tell... Anyone have anymore info on this kid?

Preferred walk-on, played in WPIAL, wasn't ranked out of high school as a recruit, though attended our junior day, only offer was Kentucky Christian and Seton Hill from the looks of it. Probably just a scout team spot.
