Brad Underwood was announced as the new Illinois coach. How the hell did Ok State let him go?

What I`ve read, it`s all about the money, OSU was paying just over 1mil with incentives and Illini has doubled down. This was obviously in work before the tourney.

I just saw this, damn. How does a school with Boone T Pickens basically able to write a check for whatever amount not pay their coach more if he was in danger of leaving.
Also as for Underwood, he is whoring it out pretty bad these days.

Underwood was an assistant at Western Illinois, and he knows the state. Also, Jeff Goodman with ESPN said that there was some friction between Underwood and the OSU AD. Given its location, Illinois should be a terrific basketball school--it sits in a recruiting hotbed. Candidly, IMHO, it is a better job than OSU.

Joe Mazzulla is the new head coach at Fairmont State. He replaces former WVU assistant Jerrod Calhoun who became the head coach at Youngstown State.

Maybe if he's successful he can succeed Huggy in about 10 years.

Joe is one of my all time favorite WVU players............ Remembered when he got his head bashed in - blood all over the place. He stopped playing only long enough to change his jersey.

We're glad to have Joey Mazz back in town (he was an assistant here under Calhoun). Calhoun took us as far as he could and everyone knew he wasn't going to retire here. Getting Mazzulla somewhat softens the blow of losing him.

When Huggs started heavy on Press Virginia, I told someone that it looked like 5 Mazzula's out there at once. Kid had hustle.

Great recruiting by Kansas...
the Lawson brother KJ and Dedric, have both bolted Tubby Smith at Memphis by transferring to Kansas. Then there are the other 2 brothers who are both 5 star HS prospects. It seems the father basically blackmailed/negotiated an assistant coaching position for his boys to sign there. Tubby has since fired the assistant coach who agreed to that deal and then demoted Dad to player development. This angered the boys and so they bailed. They bailed with class, leaving "FU&% Tubby" instagrams littered about. Memphis is a mess, has no quality players signed and has alienated any kind of Memphis pipeline...yet he still chose to let these wonderful young men/losers go. Good luck, Bill Self...but then with your luck, it will turn out just fine.

UT signed the # 2 recuit, a 6'11" center and has the 4th-ranked recruiting class.
I hope WVU plays one game against them very early in the season. Will be fun to watch that center go against Sags.
