This really sucks, but Rivals is reporting that Michigan officials are in Toledo, Ohio today to meet with Coach Rich Rodriguez.

I think I'm going to kill something.

yeah this is getting to be Beliein-esque, and I'm not just saying that because Meechigan is the potential suitor here. If we are gonna have these rumors and a coach that is going to flirt with other schools EVERY year, he needs to pack his bags and move on.

I am not saying that you won't have this from time-to-time but quite honestly its ridiculous when you consider what this state and the university poured into keeping this guy just a little over a year ago.

If Rodriguez has any character, he needs to step up right here and now and state once and for all if he is gonna stay or gonna go.

For real. I hope he just says he's staying. Get it over with. We need no more distractions. WTF is up with michigan and our coaches?

Why would he even go to Toledo to meet with them if he wasn't interested. Come on Coach Rod, don't be a Bobby Petrino!!!

EXACTLY!
We would lose countless recruits if he leaves or even a possibility of him leaving! C'mon, don't be Belyin, 1's enough.

EXACTLY...if he cared about the university and the program he would have told them to get screwed when they called to even set up a meeting.

The sad part is that I'll say it just like I did last year. This, just like the Alabama job, would be a lateral if not downward move for Rodriguez. Sure, it might be a step up in national prestige, but in terms of recent success, it isn't even close. Michigan plays in the third or fourth best conference in America and has done nothing this side of the millennium to show they are nothing more than the second best team in a second-rate league.

West Virginia on the other hand has set itself apart as the figurehead of an emerging conference having won a share of or won the league title outright in 2003, 2004, 2005 and again this year.

If he does leave he will not and should not be mentioned in the same breathe will the likes of Petrino. I also don't think he will leave.

After all, the university extended its neck way out on the chopping block when they ponied up all the money for him and his assistants as well as the funds used to make all these expansions to the facilities. At least Huggins didn't hold the athletic department's checkbook hostage when he took the job and has settled in nicely thus far.
