Of course we should. My comments were just in reference to the two teams playing in the Red River Rivalry.

Every team that we needed to lose to make sure we get back into the top 25 lost.

Navy
Utah
UofL
GT

It will help if Stanford loses, especially with LSU beating Auburn.

You forgot Florida State, They only have 3 losses, they need to be ranked. Most AP Voters would agree.

WVU was hurt by the VPI and TCU punters. The Texas punter is even better.

Dickson unleashed a 69-yard punt, and he had a 62-yard kick downed by teammate Josh Thompson at the Oklahoma 2. Dickson punted five times, and his average of 55.0 yards tied the school record he set last year against Notre Dame.

Dickson is averaging 48.3 yards per punt this season. Nine of Dickson’s 27 punts have landed inside an opponent’s 20. Only seven of Dickson’s kicks have been returned.

As long as they are punting they aren't scoring.

Iowa State handing it to TT early. This is a team to be afraid of. They can't be considered an automatic 'W' any more.

I agree and Texas is playing 2 deep safeties and man coverage taking away the big pass plays and daring OSU to run. Unless we get creative or drastically improve in our run blocking, that will be a interesting game as well.

2 and 5 on the 7 yard line why is Texas throwing the ball?

Because Texas averages less than 2 yards per carry.

After Baylor, no more easy Big 12 games. Iowa State, K-State, and Texas all looking tough.

The Big 12 championship game, I think actually does make this conference the best. 10 teams, with that second game, where you've played this team already. Not like ACC, SEC, and Big 10 where most likely you've haven't played team before. For instance, Wisconsin prob. wins West and OSU East, it will be first meet up. I think about say a TCU/OSU TCU/WVU, TCU/OU, WVU/OU, WVU/OSU,etc. would be very fun to watch a second time. I think either way you have a great second game, planning, and preparing will be fun with teams having played each other already. And you can't do it with a conference greater than ten teams in college football, it would be too many games with 12. So ten is actually perfect. The jury will be out if it helps make the playoffs or not though. But it will be very exciting to watch the next 7 weeks. It really does seem like who ever gets hot wins.

IA State really beats up Texas Tech, KSU is beating OK at half... we've got some serious work ahead of us.

That surprised me that Iowa St man handled TTU. I really thought the Raiders would be the better team.

If the top 4 stay undefeated and Norte Dame wins out ,I`ll put money on ND jumping who ever is in that #4 spot.

Impossible, Georgia plays Alabama.
You could have Alabama, PSU, TCU, and Miami go undefeated but then ND would have 2 losses.

Nightmare scenario for CFP:

Alabama loses a close game to UGA in SEC Championship.
Miami loses a close game to 1-loss Clemson in ACC Championship.
Wisconsin loses a close game to 1-loss Ohio State in Big 10 Championship.
TCU beat Oklahoma State in regular season but loses a close game to OSU in Big 12 Championship rematch.
Washington/Washington State win the Pac 12 with 1 loss.
ND wins out with one loss.

Now...all Conference champions except UGA have 1 loss. Alabama, TCU, Miami and Wisconsin were all undefeated until the championship loss.

Now you have one undefeated team (UGA), and a huge pool of 1-loss teams.

Georgia (13-0, SEC Champ)

Oklahoma State (12-1, Big 12 Champ)
Ohio State (12-1, Big 10 Champ)
Clemson (12-1, ACC Champ)
Washington/State (12-1, PAC 12 Champ)

Notre Dame (12-1, Independent)
Alabama (12-1, SEC Runner up)
TCU (12-1, Big 12 Runner up)
Wisconson (12-1, Big 10 Runner Up)
Miami (12-1, ACC Runner up)
Penn State (12-1)

For fun, throw in:

Marshall (12-1, CUSA Champion)
Toledo (12-1, MAC Champion)

In that scenario, I could easily see the CFP being

Georgia
Notre Dame
Alabama
Ohio State

Leaving the Big 12, Pac 12 and the ACC out of the CFP.

That's no nightmare. They just take UGA, Bama, Ohio State and Notre Dame and justify it however they need to. That is their wet dream.

The CFP is the Supreme Court. They decide how they are ruling and write the opinion to justify the ruling.

Uhhh no. #1. Notre Dame only plays 12 games, #2 Notre Dame plays Miami. 3. Washington and Washington State play each other, both can't finish with one loss. And winner has awful SOS. Wisky has zero shot if they lose Big Ten title game,(It'd prob be there only ranked game) there SOS is awful.

IN your scenario, which really wouldn't be a nightmare, you would have:
1. Georgia SEC champ
2. Clemson ACC champ
3. Ohio State. Big 10 champ.
4. Prob. Alabama (No conference title but passes the so called eye test)
Over OK State (weak ooc)(Big 12 champ), WSU Pac 12 champ(weak OOC and conference schedule), ND 1 loss(No conference championship game), TCU 1 loss(No conference champ and OOC is weaker), Penn State 1 loss(same), Wisky 1 loss (same)
You know the playoff committee loves Bama.

For ND to have a shot, they would need either NC State or Miami to win ACC, therefore a defacto conference title.

Ok...so change ND record to 11-1 and take Miami out of the 1 loss pool....BFD, it's not like it deconstructs the entire post.

I also "and/or"d Washington and Washington State, not both...it's pretty obvious you can't have two conference champions.

Regarding ND...with the eyeballs they bring and a 4-1 record against the T25 (and the only loss being a 1-point loss to the undefeated SEC champ)...I'm not convinced they don't jump Clemson who owns a very bad loss to Syracuse.

Regardless of the 4th spot going to ND or Alabama...it's looking likely that this might be the year TWO P5 conference champs get left out, along with a 11-1 Penn State team (surprised you didn't catch that mistake, hawkeye ) who has a similar argument as Ohio State did last year....along with a host of 1-loss teams that all can make a case for a spot.
