As to article #2, it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to know it's the cost that kills season tickets....we ARE from WV for goodness sake and the mines aren't quite there yet. Not to mention that Skyler was polarising and a stadium just off 79 would be more appealing.

I agree. Car sales down 7+ months, personal debt and health care costs increasing. I'd say it's more a reflection of the economy than WVU. But increasing ticket prices don't help.

I wish him the best at FAU. He has some serious talent. I hope he can get everything under control. Once a mountaineer.

Yup. Sounded like he genuinely loved WV and the fans just was homesick.

I'm suprised, Miami, Florida, South Florida, or Central Florida, were not interested. Nothing against FAU, they seem to be putting together a decent team, but just suprised a bigger school in Florida didn't want him.

Clint Tricket is the TE coach at FAU and it is 38 miles from his home with grandma just dying.

Dang! I've been hoping he would show up here this week. I won't blame the guy though. We all react different to losing a family member.

As offensive as some of us may find him, Lane Kiffin has a hell of a pedigree - Tennessee, USC, OC at Alabama, father with decades of NFL experience...he's going to attract a lot of good players, and I'm guessing he'll make FAU relevant, then move on when the right offer comes along.

Funny how over the years I have hated certain coaches and then over time respected them for what they have done. The list is long Don't know if one day Kiffen will fall into this category with me but for now I think the guy is a spoiled puss bag. I do give the guy credit for shaking things up and making something happen at FAU. Unfortunately for FAU he will move on when the right call comes.

I wish that JD could have blossomed here at WVU...but it just never happened. The guy has all the God-given talent in the world but we've seen dropped balls and blown assignments for 2 seasons. It was bad enough for Holgy to talk about not being able to play his younger wr since they don't know their routes and don't seem concerned about blocking. Perhaps this is family, perhaps it is academics, perhaps it is homesickness, perhaps it was playing for Carrier (he demands ALL aspects of the game, not just pass catching). Whatever it is, I wish him well and hope he finds it in him to strive for something beyond "getting to play".

I'm not a fan of Kiffin either, he always looks way in over his head.

this is the best back field we've had since White/Slaton et al.
if the O line is solid, we're golden.

Durante was supposed to have the best hands and Simms was the fastest player. To loose both of them right before the season starts has to hurt us some.

I do think Holgy and Spatival are crafty enough to overcome their loss. With that said losing two of our deep threats might come back to bite us as far as depth is concerned.

I'd love to have the deep threat, don't get me wrong, but if our other guys can run routes and get separation, and Grier is as accurate as advertised, and our offensive line gels, and our backs don't get hurt...we should be fine.

2 weeks to go!
