I'd love to have the deep threat, don't get me wrong, but if our other guys can run routes and get separation, and Grier is as accurate as advertised, and our offensive line gels, and our backs don't get hurt...we should be fine.

2 weeks to go!

That is an awful lot of ifs...but I'm with you.

Losing Marcus Simms AND Jovon Durante (permanently) for the opener is a bummer but I think with our go-to "core" receivers (Sills, White, Jennings) we should be fine. Add-in our 4 RBs and key role players like Wellman and Wesco, I don't expect our offense to miss a beat.

Hate to sound like a broken record but if we can get 8 solid, dependable guys on O-line then our offense is going to be hard to stop.

After Tech then the next 3 games will be really, really important in building experience and depth against Del St, ECU, and Kansas.

I might sound crazy but I'm actually more nervous about the ECU game than the VT game. Short week after VT.

Isn't it kind of weird that WVU's first three games are against Virginia Tech, ECU and Delaware State, and Virginia Tech's first three games are against WVU, Delaware and ECU? Virginia Tech's game against ECU is in Greensville, not in Blacksburg. WVU goes to Greensville to play ECU in 2020.

Mountaineers Make Preseason AP Top25

Quote:
Earlier this month, the USAToday Coaches Poll put West Virginia at No. 20 in their preseason poll. Today, the Associated Press followed suit, selecting the Mountaineers 22nd in the Preseason APTop25. They finished last year ranked 18th.

Leading the way was Alabama, who received 52 of the 59 first place votes. Florida State (four) and Ohio State (three) also received first place votes, although the Buckeyes came in at No. 2 in the poll, while the Seminoles were No. 3.

The Big12 saw Oklahoma (No. 7), Oklahoma State (No. 10), Kansas State (No. 20) and Texas (No. 23) also in the poll.

The full poll can be seen HERE.

Va. Tech at 21.

Also worth noting that TCU is 26th which would make 6 Big12 teams in the top 26.

Punched my ticket for the TCU game in Ft. Worth Oct 7. I travel to Dallas often for work and explored the TCU campus last week. Beautiful campus. Beautiful stadium. Great seats for $30/ticket. Looking forward to my first road game in years.

Ignore as best you can the bottom half of the Big 12 Conference, which will spend the 2017 season bordering on the verge of bowl eligibility – if not much, much worse – while serving as cupcakes for those five teams with legitimate postseason aspirations.

Those five: Oklahoma, of course, with its eyes on the national title; rival Oklahoma State, which could be hampered by a questionable offensive line; TCU, which aims to rebound from a rare losing season; Kansas State, that annual pest; and Texas, rejuvenated by the arrival of Tom Herman from Houston.

A lot of articles keep saying, WVU is the hardest to pin, yet they all put us at 6 or below in the standings. They say we're a year away....yet somehow justify moving UT into the top half with a new coach while moving us down 4 wins with a better QB.

Keep sleeping. Every day I'm more confident we make the Hoagies our bitches in front of a national audience come Sept. 3rd.

Yea, we lost a LOT of street cred in that bowl game loss to Miami.

But, we can erase all of that in the first game.

Turnkey Tailgating coming to the Blue Lot

According to Wells, fans can reserve a premium location and not have to wake up before dawn to get to the tailgate. The service will include a customized tent, seating, catering and entertainment options with a game-day concierge service to handle requests.

I just LOVE that they throw us (the media) under the bus. Honestly why play with the forecast they are givint. Just like they shouldn't have had the 2016 presidential election. I don't want to get political because I know a lot of course Chet's hate trump, but you've got the love the comparisons in the way the elitist media (ranking ND and Texas) (calling it for Hilary in March) get it wrong every year. Media says WVU 6-6? Fuk em, bet it all on WVU.

One thing I will bet is WVU covering and winning against those bitches from Blacksburg

Unless we sustain some major injuries, no way we finish as low as 6-6 this year. It's a popularity contest every year. Just because we ain't the prettiest, don't mean we can't dance.

Unless Will has completely forgotten how to play football -
I mean did you see his highlights while wearing those funny
colors? - and the O line plays a lot of "look out!" ball...
We go 8 n 4 minimum.
