Story.

The article notes that Matta will be 50 in July. I had to double check that fact (which is correct). He's just two years older than me. I hope to hell that I don't look as old as Matta.

I don't know if anyone has ever told you but you look a lot like Will Ferrell.

Seriously, right? I heard someone say he was 49, and I thought they were kidding.

This could be good or bad for WVU. Huggy has been getting some solid recruits from Ohio. He may be able to get more with a bad hire or could be in for some tough battles with a good one.

Thad Matta is not only old for his age, but he looks like he just ordered his ruthless henchmen to do something ruthless and henchmenish. "I don't care if she is a new mother, go teach her a lesson she won't soon forget!" --Thad Matta (probably)

Just read a piece on Thad and apparently he has had bad back issues.
I, like most of you here, don't like anything to do with Ohio State but, a bad back is no fun and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. This is probably part of the reason for his aged look.

They'll hire assistant Chris Jent probably for the year as a trial, if things go south look at Chris Holtmann from Butler as a replacement, or maybe even Sean Miller if he can't get the Final Four with Arizona this year. Some rumors being thrown around our good old friend Fred Hoiberg will be announced in the next couple days though...

NCAA comes down on Louisville.

Here are some highlights:
- Cardinals must vacate everything from Dec. 2010 until July 2014 (that would include a National Title).
- Pitino suspended five games.
- Restrictions on scholarships and recruiting.
- School has to return money made from the NCAA tournament
- Four years on probation.

Its interesting that NC wasn't sanctioned for their academic failings. I guess NC has more clout.

UNC's NCAA probe is still ongoing. I believe they just resubmitted new accusations against the basketball and football teams for attending fake classes. Whether they stick or not is yet to be seen. They botched this investigation pretty bad.

Prized Texas BBall Recruit Mo Bamba Accused of Accepting "Extra Benefits" from a "mentor". The craziest thing is that it was Bamba's older brother who made the allegation.

I find it funny when words have different meanings in different places. For example:

Extra benefits at Texas: cash and gifts.

Extra benefits at Louisville: a Cleveland Steamer from some chick named Passion.
