So full season not including post is about 31 games. So I guess it could be 15 or 16 games. Way too harsh for positive on marijuana.

The schedule is tough too, with first game of Texas AM, then you have Pitt, Virginia, Kentucky, Plus Advo Care tourney where you'll prob play one or two other legit teams.

A ten-game suspension would take him out of the aTm, Pitt, Virginia and AdvoCare tourney game.

Derek Culver's enrollment becomes even more important if Ahmad is suspended for ten or more games.

So let me get this straight ... they failed the test right after the Gonzaga game ... which means they were getting high DURING the NCAA Tourney run???

Come on MAN!!!

They couldn't wait until the off season???

Pot Heads never learn.

They may have waited until the off season (after the Gonzaga loss).

He must have smoked within a few days before the test. I would imagine someone that is in as good of shape as he is, with little body fat for the THC to be stored in he must have been pulled in pretty soon after. Also, did nobody give him a heads up the day before? I was tested by the NCAA, my coached called me the day before and told me to be prepared for a drug test the next morning at practice. Obviously that's not a lot of time to try to flush your system, and maybe they were tested literally right after the tournament ended, like before they even got home.

Who knows really, but it sucks for the team. It's doubtful it will cost us a shot at a conference title or NCAA birth, but we are all expecting big things from him this coming year and missing 10 games could be a setback for him.

Well now I fully understand why Macon left. I was really puzzled before why he would leave early,

I guess...I still think his stock might have improved if he'd had a strong half-season and the team had gone deep in the tournament.

Right, I really hope Culver makes it now. I'm thinking Hunter and Harris will get more minutes now, hopefully they are ready. Teddy Allen seems more like a big guard but I guess he might be big enough to play some small forward.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University basketball coach Bob Huggins announced today two title changes and a new hire for the men’s basketball staff.

Josh Eilert, who enters his 11th season with the WVU men’s basketball program, will serve as Director of Basketball Operations. He spent the first six seasons as the Video Coordinator and the last four seasons as Coordinator of Basketball Operations.

Jay Kuntz, who has spent nine years with the Mountaineer basketball program, will serve as Assistant to the Head Coach. He has served as Coordinator of Player Development the last two years and was a graduate assistant for three years and a four-year student manager from 2008-12.

James Long, a member of the Mountaineer basketball team from 2015-17, will serve as Assistant Director of Basketball Operations. A native of Charleston, West Virginia, Long graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance in 2016 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sport management.

“All three of these individuals have had an integral part in the success of Mountaineer basketball,” Huggins said. “These changes open up tremendous opportunities for Josh, Jay and James, and I know they will take full advantage of their roles.”

I really like the James Long hire! He was really a hard worker during his years at WVU and was well liked.

Kind of off topic. I re-watched the WVU - Zags Sweet 16 game last night (this is the time of year when I start watching any recordings of have of any WVU sports as I'm jonesing for fball season to start).

That game really is much watch sports TV. As much as I hate the ending, it is one of the best bball games ever.

We couldn't hit a basket yet almost won the game.
Not saying we should have won, but certainly would have if our shooting percentage was better.

But the big take away for me is that both teams were very evenly matched and played their hearts out with great effort and intensity. What a game.

This is the time of year I watch the 2007 WVU v PITT football game over and over with a few of my droogs, have some eggiwegs, listen to Ludwig Van and commit to a nice portion of the old ultra violence, before I climb in bed and have a bit of the in out in out.

Wvu offered an instate kid today? Top guess is Oboni Killen from chapmanville, sophomore. Junior from North Marion Akuebuze? Man amongst boys but our 2019 class of bigs seem set. Reportedly Huggs loves David Early sophomore. Looks like a stronger more athletic Teddy Allen. But I was hoping early would go football. I guess those are the most likely. Could be the Hampshire freshman or Chapanvilles Williamson but he's a senior guard. Same with Jeremy Dillion. If wvu fb had 30 schollys he'd be at wvu. Looks like he could be a stud at TE or OLB would just have to gain weight. The sophomore from Motown Matheny, Capitals Kerry Martin is a jr, capitals Pittman but he'll be a senior. Would make a great walk on WR. Martin may be fb as well. Then Dobbs a jr is A lower possibility. Horton is the better player on his team. Lmao jesus....so does anyone know? Haha

The WVU alumni game tonight at Fairmont State was very cool. It was basically the Final Four team of Butler, Jones, Flowers, Truck, Mazzulla and Mitchell against Press Virginia (Paige, Meyers, Phillip, Watkins, Williams, Browne, etc.) with all of the other guys split between the teams.

Very entertaining. Went down to the last shot with the Final Fours winning. Great to see these guys back together. Joe Alexander even made a late appearance.

West Virginia has offered shooting guard David Early, a 2020 prospect out of Logan (WV). The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder plays with the West Virginia Wildcats under former Mountaineer Paul Williamson. After another strong performance - this one in Las Vegas on Friday night - Head Coach Bob Huggins chose to offer the rising sophomore.

One of the pay sites had a "free" video interview of some of the alums that played, and the first person interviewed was Herbie Brooks. Brooks was a senior at Mullens High School when I was a freshman at a school in Raleigh County, and I remember seeing him score over 70 points against my high school (more points than our entire team scored). The game was SRO just because people wanted to Brooks play. He was just incredible in high school, and he had a nice career at WVU. It was good to see a guy closer to my age who got to play in the game.

Herbie is 51. When he was announced they said he still holds the record for most points scored in a WV high school tournament game (50).
