I think what he meant was this is just another example of why the country has gone to Hell since the bleeders got the vote in 1919. I inferred a little, but that was the gist. I am a certified south to north interpreter. I grew up speaking Northern, but spent a lot of time in Louisiana and Mississippi and now am fluent in both languages.

One need not be politically “conservative” to conjure the likely, yet unintended consequences of mandates and forced coverage and waivers and rules and penalties effected by unelected, unqualified political appointees in connection with health care for a diverse population with a tradition of liberty. As a former USDHHS Secretary said: “The place has more power than a good person needs or a bad person ought to have.”

I never said any such thing. I responded to someone saying that Civil Rights under our Constitution do not include the federal government requiring businesses to do something or refrain from doing something. I pointed out that the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as well as other federal anti-discrimination statutes, do exactly that.

I quickly re-skimmed your post at issue and I apologize for misreading your post. I had mistakenly surmized that you were equating the rule at issue (requiring a religious institution to provide a service free of cost to a beneficiary against the religious teaching of that institution) to a civil right granted to the individual who does not want to pay the cost of the good or service. My last post was intended to illustrate how much discretion is granted to an unelected official but I mischaracterized your post. Sorry about that.
