My folks live in Webster Co.

And unfortunately, the property we have permission to hunt on backs up to a 1000+ acre hunting club with tons of members...with families surrounding us on the other sides.

I have it lucky. My property borders federal land, and I have shot 6 Gobbler's in the past 2 weeks that landed in my backyard from my back porch.

All 6 will be fried in Peanut Oil when their time comes.

GO EERS...

You can take one per day down here.

The Turkeys are a lot more abundant down here than they are in WV. I have read that Alabama has the largest turkey population in the US, and where I live might as well be Alabama, not Florida. There are a lot more of them, but they are much smaller in the south. The biggest gobbler I ever killed in WV was 22 lbs. Down here the Gobblers probably average 15 lbs. Still good eatin though.

I refuse to deer hunt down here. The German Sheppard's in WV are bigger than FL deer. I'm not kidding. They have no meat on them, but because their diet is much different.

Going to try to fill my last archery tag on Monday, hopefully with a large mature deer, buck or doe. I'm filling up the deep freeze this year since I give away almost half to people who enjoy venison, but can't hunt themselves.

This guy walked in front of my Z7 this morning. Rattled him in after watching a 5 point and a half rack 4 point fight in front of my stand.

Thanks, he's my nicest one in 30 years of bow hunting. Not one of the "big ones" we have on camera but more than enough for this guy.

Interesting tidbit. I settled into my stand about 6:15 yesterday morning and just kicked back and relaxed in the quite. There were a few straggling clouds that moved out and as I looked up in the sky the constellation Orion was just above the ridge top directly in front of me. I found it quite profound upon reflection.
