Yep, I got mine changed. I swear that button wasn't there last night - I hadn't been drinking. Thanks Stanley!

Haha. That might have been the problem! Sobriety is over-rated.

Somehow the site won't feel like home once "The Dark Noreen" leaves us.

I still think Noreen should be Grandfathered in. The image needs to be resurrected though.

As a OG of this site I can't wait to wake the ole girl back up. They started the site around 05-04. I found it from a Google search for WVU fan message board in 05. I needed to vent. The game that I needed to vent about, VT. Everyone on the old board was all about that Slaton fella. Here's what she looked like when I came around. https://web.archive.org/web/2005103007 ... stignitethiscouch.com:80/

It's been a couple weeks since I've updated progress on the site migration. Here's where I'm at:

User interface: Basic features are about 80% done. The stuff required to get us started on a new site will be done this week.

User accounts: I've been able to successfully migrate over user accounts to the new system. I have a bit of testing to do but things look good so far. This will allow everyone to retain their current accounts and post history.

Posts: This is the next item to tackle and is probably the hardest. My plan is to move over content from the last year only. There's just too much data to try to migrate everything over. This could change once I get into the detail but for now that's what I'm working towards. I'll see if I can keep the current site as is alive and link to that from the new site so that older content doesn't just disappear.

Testing: Once the above is in place I'll ask for a few volunteers to help test the new site before making it live.

That's it for now. Will update again soon.

Understood. Too bad I won't be able to go back and find all those posts about how Geno Smith is going to be a rockstar in the NFL or how we're going to the NC game "NEXT YEAR" ...in 2012, 2013, 2014....etc.

/just as guilty!

Is there a way to archive the older data in the new forum? As an example see the archives at the bottom of the page here.

There is. It's something I can consider after the initial migration work is done.

I can't remember what I did with the pen that was in my hand two minutes ago, but I still remember my password for this beautiful, godforsaken wasteland of a message board that's somehow still going after all this time. It almost makes me feel like a young man with fully functional brain cells and the ability to waste a bunch of time at work and yet still keep up with my duties. Carry on, WMITC.
