Mounties lead Auburn at the half in the Savannah Invitational, 31-28.

Came from behind and beat Auburn 56-52. Don't care what sport it is, beating the SEC is good. Having said that, it looks like the women have a chance to have a special year. It will be fun to follow them and the men the next 4 or so months.

WVU up 6 at the half against Old Miss in the Big 12 -- SEC matchup despite 18 turnovers in the first half. Good thing Huggins not the women's coach.

They're now down 30-29 and 3-10 for FT. Amazing they're still in it.

Coach Carey full of Christmas cheer after the women won 91-33.

On the defense: we didn't play very well -- gave them too many good looks. They just weren't hitting.

On transfer and juco player of the year Kristina King, who had 16 points on 7-9 shooting and 9 rebounds in 19 minutes: she did some good things on offense, but needs to learn to play defense.

A player scoring almost a point a minute can give up a few easy baskets and still be a big help to a team.

WVU ahead of the Pygmies 62-22 at the half. Montgomery and Muldrow are a combined 15 for 15 from the field with 2 min. to go in 3rd quarter. In the first half, WVU had 24 assists on 27 field goals.

WVU lost two guards yesterday in the game against St. Mary's. One took an elbow to the nose. The ref called an intentional foul and the announcer said that it had to be deliberate. The offending player had taken a contested shot and finished with a rapid downward elbow motion -- not the usual finish to a shot. There was lots of blood and she went to the hospital to have her nose reset.
The other player injured a knee. She had got loose for a layup, and the St. Mary's player shoved her from behind in midair. She went for an MRI.
I think St. Mary's is a bunch of thugs.

Neither player suited up for today's game.

Alexis Brewer, one of the two players hurt by the thugs from St. Mary's, returned today. in 31 minutes, she was 6-10 from the floor, including 3-4 from the 3, and scored 15. The other injured player, Pardee, has been back a while.

# 6 seed WVU defeated # 3 seed OU 82-48 despite being outscored 25-12 in the 4th quarter. They were up 70-33 after 3 quarters. An amazing performance. I believe OU is ranked, perhaps 19th. Next up is Texas.

I actually had no idea that college women played 4 quarters instead of 2 halves
