What would it take to stop supporting Trump?

Thinking back- Obama lost me when he buckled on single payer for the ACA as it was more like the GOP healthcare reform and less like a universal healthcare system I was personally hoping for.

When ACA passed I thought that it wasn't the healthcare reform that he really promised. I still liked him as figurehead but became way more skeptical of his policies at that point.

It would be absolutely stupid to just support a president's actions because I liked his personality or because he was from the same "team".

That leads me to this question for the Trump supporters: what would Trump have to do that would cause you to reconsider his abilities as president?

Just to play fair.

Trump haters: what would it take for you to consider Trump a good president?

I'll play your stupid little game.
Answer - Trump would have to become a progressive.

There is nothing that Hitler II could do to keep his lovers from backing him 100%.

Tough one! Off the top of my head (I might think of more later) here are a few things that would start to change my mind in favor of Dangerous Donald.

Speaking as a US Citizen:

1. He should disclose his tax returns.
2. He should completely divest himself from his private business interests, sell off those assets and place the proceeds into a truly blind trust.
3. He should remove Bannon from the National Security Council.
4. He should not allow family members (including in-laws) to serve in advisory positions.
5. He should give up his personal, unsecured smart phone (or allow it to be secured.)
6. He should give up twitter, or at the very least wait 60 minutes between writing & posting - & allow his advisors to vet the tweets.
7. He should pay attention to security / intelligence briefings instead of relying on cable TV news for such information.
8. He should leave ACA in place. Improve it if necessary, but don't put millions of lives in danger by repealing it outright.
9. He should withdraw Gorsuch and appoint Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. Alternately, he should defer filling any Supreme Court vacancy occurring in the last year of his term in favor of his successor's choice.
10. He should accept the fact that the media's job is to be critical of Government.
11. He should renounce his previous lies & resolve to tell the truth moving forward.
12. (Related to 11) He should admit that he lost the popular vote & stop acting as if he has a mandate.
13. He should play approximately 50% less golf.
14. He should forget the wall. (It won't work.)
15. He should recognize that immigration is the foundation of this country & allow it to continue.
16. He should introduce comprehensive legislation to do away with Gerrymandering.
17. He should ditch the stupid haircut. Go for a nice Eisenhower buzz cut.

As a local-tax paying resident of New York City:

1. He should avoid visiting NYC as much as possible - OR - arrange to stay somewhere more discreet / defensible than Trump Tower when he's in town.

NYPD spent approximately $24 million securing Dangerous Donald & his Tower for the period between the election and Inauguration Day. The Federal Government has only kicked in $7 million to reimburse that. Moving forward, it's estimated that NYPD is spending up to $146K per day to secure Melania & Barron (who are staying here at least through the beginning of summer - & perhaps longer.) That number swells to $300K per day if Dangerous Donald comes for a home visit.

Unless I'm mistaken, NYC already contributes much more to the tax base than it gets back in Federal or State services. Y'all can't ask us to pony up for Dangerous Donald's conjugal visits on top of that.

Hitler II could turn the US over to Russia and the lovers would say it for our own good.

When Hitler II spoke at a CPac event a lot of hie supporters were waving the Russian flag with Trump written on it. What do you make of that?

I'd be curious to hear more Dangerous Donald supporters' thoughts on this thread's original question.

I think they are silent because there is nothing that would make them stop their support. Love is blind!

Possibly. Also could be that there's no ready-made, officially sanctioned Fox/Talk Radio talking points for them to regurgitate.

For the record - I re-introduced this thread's original question sincerely.

Trump people: We are genuinely interested in knowing why you think the way you do. Talking about this stuff can only help, IMHO.

Ultimately, we're all on the same team here.

Why Comparing Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler Is an Embarrassing Act of Ignorance and Also Political Irresponsiblility - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/peter-r ... nald-trum_b_11097020.html

Even coming from a far left website --at least there is a little sanity there. I dont care what side you are on, if you can make this comparison, you dont belong in the conversation at all. Why? Because you've not even learned the very absolute basics of history and politics. You have to learn how to crawl before you can walk. Statements like this make it obvious that some people havent even learned how to get out of the crib yet....

1. If he doesn't secure the border.
2. If he picks a liberal Supreme Court justice.
3. If he gets us into a stupid war like Iraq, or pulls us out of one too soon like Iraq.
4. I don't care about his tax returns.
5. I hope he doesn't sell his businesses, that could dissuade future successful business people from running for President.
6. If he doesn't fix healthcare, especially for small business people like me.
7. I don't care about his haircut, in-laws as advisors, or his golf game. I didn't hear anyone complain when Obama said Chelle was his number one advisor. Also, Obama played a shiit ton of golf.
8. I fully expect him to allow legal immigration to continue, and to pause or stop it temporarily where necessary.
9. I expect him to deport at least as many illegals that have broken other laws as Obama did.
10. He should give up the Twitter account.
11. I fully expect tax laws to be reformed so companies can return billions of U.S. Dollars to our country and invest in job creating technologies.
12. I hope my taxes will be cut, but I doubt it. Not a deal breaker for me.
13. Basically if he keeps most of his campaign promises I'll be happy.

The best thing he can do is put the final nail in the globalist liberal agenda and not do anything to impede the self destruction of the Democratic Party. Republicans hold the house, the senate, the White House, 2/3rds of State Legislatures, and 32 governorships. Democrats get killed in local elections across the country and have no bench. They just re-elected Nancy Pelosi for crying out loud, and almost elected a Nation of Islam supporter for DNC chair. Democrats utterly powerless and clueless. They are reduced to crying "racist" at everything Trump wants to do. It is up to Trump to not give any momentum back to the liberals. Let them live in there own little world of CNN,the Washington Post, and their ridiculous protests. None of that resonates outside of the far left.

83grd, I'm betting your list is a bit of fantasy, because you would be unable to admit you were wrong in voting for Hitler II regardless of his actions.

No regrets so far Sandy. I'm happy with what he's trying to accomplish. I'm especially happy how upset the liberals and the main stream media is. They continue to implode and focus on things most people don't care about. Hilarious how powerless people make up stuff and cry racists/Hitler and all that crap. Love it!

How about you Sandy are you regretting your vote for the ancient Socialist or the Crooked Grifter with a neurological disorder? Some strong candidates you all fielded there. Are you happy your party rigged the primaries and still got their clocked clean in the general? Do you support how they cheated with CNN on the debate questions and how your party operatives admitted paying people to commit violence at Trump rallies? And still got your clock cleaned in the general.

You guys got a lot of stuff to clean up before even beginning to worry about the other side. Thing is I see nothing getting cleaned up. More liberal violence and a weak bench with no future stars. Turrible how far your party has fallen. Turrible.

Turkish, Quite a few historians are comparing Hitler II's actions to Hitler I's early actions. For example both fought to eliminate an independent press. Both had over sized egos. Both lied to the public with great frequency. Both claimed they were the were the one to save their countries. Both picked a nationality to demonize so as to have someone to be a common enemy. Their are other common traits that are not listed.

I'm not sure if you will ever make back to reality Sandy.

Good luck and best wishes that you recover soon.
