We ranked 21st in the country in scoring, ya donk...

A statistic that is skewed by our early season domination of overmatched opponents.

Our half-court set offensive efficiency has to be one of the WORST in the nation.

We'll find the stats and show me, donk...

No.

Well then, by all means, continue spouting off baseless drivel, like you know what you're talking about...

Ha! Ha! I will just rely on what I saw with my own two eyes.

I doubt anyone on here thought we looked like a well oiled machine in our half court sets against zone defenses.

But hey, we sure did run up BIG points against a 200+ ranked non-conference strength of schedule.

Next year will be the best team WVU has had since 2010. Myers and Watkins not that big a loss. I liked PHillips game but he did have some costly turnovers in the last few games, and feel Knapper could be equal as replacement. Though going by highlights and word of mouth might be wrong. The one question mark will be who can take Adrian's spot. Culver not making cut really hurts here. In 2009 WVU got lucky with getting a 5 star guy like Devin Ebanks, and he was the difference maker in 2010. Team could easily make final four next year with the right draw but can't see team winning a National title unless Huggins somehow gets a one and doner.
It's after next year, when Carter and Miles are gone that WVU will be alot worse.

I agree that we will be STRONG next year.

And the year after that ... I see Bolden, West, Ahmad and Bender being a lethal combination.

I think a well improved Macon and a rising star Konate will be sufficient enough next year.

Carter
Dax
Ahmad
Macon
Konate

Could be a great lineup. Hopefully the new guys can learn and adapt well.

And, I forgot Konate for the year after next.

Also, West will be next year's Adrian.

I like this combo offensively, but perimeter defense will be poor here. I like Bolden and West alot, but they are average at best defensively. From the get go with Carter and Miles as freshman you knew they were excellent defenders. Carter, Miles and Phillips are defense first then offense while both Bolden and West seem to be offense first then defense.

I guess bottom line is this is two years down the road and alot of things can change till then. I think everyone can agree next years team will be very strong. The key thing for Huggins is to make sure he has a guy to play the front of the press like Holton last year and Adrian this year. I'm not sold on West being that guy. Imagine if you had a guy like Devin Ebanks playing the front.

I like the "team" atmosphere. Getting a one and doner or someone like Shifino could really hurt this team

something I didn't realize till the other day is Sags already has 53 blocks for his career. He is on tap to shatter the record especially if he gets some real minutes. Guy is going to be a difference maker if he continues to develop

I have said it for awhile: with another year or two, Sags could become the closest thing to Kenyon Martin Huggins will see during the remainder of his coaching days.

I actually predicted during our 2nd game of the season that he would be the all time blocks leader. I wish I would have posted that somewhere other than telling my family.

You could tell from Day 1 he had that shot blockers instinct.

I think next year will be our most talented team since 2010, no doubt. But that's not enough.

IMO the team took a little too long to find their roles this season. Where that kills you is in the critical situations, like the final sequence vs. Gonzaga.

Next year, Carter is the leader of the team. That will help immensely. All year I kept wondering, who is our one guy that should get the ball with the game on the line. Carter earned that title now, Gonzaga aside.
But who starts in place of Adrian? Probably West, but he has to earn it.
Who is our 6th man scorer? Bolden? Show us you can play defense without fouling.

I think I said earlier, I expect our lineup to be:
G: Carter
G: Miles
F: Macon
F: West
F: Ahmad

Bolden is the 6th man, Sags backs up Macon. Bender, let's see how much of a jump he can make from year 1 to year 2.

I like our incoming class. Would love it if Culver would work out somehow, but we've got the next class of guards on the way IMO. Allen and Knapper both have a lot of promise.

Dont know much about Wes Harris or D'Angelo Hunter yet. But watch Allen. To me, he seems like a classic Huggins guard in the making. He could turn out to be really, really good if his head is in the right place

One of the papers suggested a lineup of:
G. Carter
G. Miles
F. Macon
F. Konate
F. Ahmad

With Macon being the front of press.

I would be interested to see this lineup on floor. Macon seems like that high energy guy but not sure he could last 30 minutes on floor.

Looks good to me. Really anxious to see Konate's development.

My only issue with that lineup is that we wouldnt have a post player to spell Konate/Macon, so one of them would have to be on the floor at all times unless we decide to go small.

Let's see how Bender develops, he could be the answer to that question.

I'm afraid Bender has the foot speed of Kilicli.

yeah thats true, but from what I've seen he can at least use his length and can probably jump over a phonebook, unlike the Turk.

It would be nice if he could get some confidence in that jumper, too.

As shown here, WVU has 14 scholarship players (including incoming Allen, Knapper and Culver), but the NCAA limits the team to 13 scholarships. IF Culver gets his grades straight and is eligible, then when you look at the roster there are only two options for scholarships to chance. One is Maciej Bender, and the other is Chase Harler. Maybe Harler could go off scholarship and get the home-town discount, but I don't know how that would work. In any event, Culver cannot come in unless room is made for him. I would love for him to be on the team next season, but it does not look good.

Well, it looks like Culver will make team, per Bob Huggins and DP. Huggins mentioned he was a little like Ebanks and could help play the front of press. This would really move team up to elite status, especially if Culver is the real deal. I think they key here is what Huggins said about Culver, "we'll see how hard he works".
