Great write up on the camps so far this week.

Man, these guys look GOOD...specially Myles Bell (CB, father was a WVU WR), Sam James (WR, sporting WVU gear and flashing WV on DC trip), and Taymon Cooke (WR/CB, looks like an absolute BEAST).

Myles Bell (CB)

Sam James (WR)

Taymon Cooke (WR/CB)

Taymon Cooke looks like he could be a steal. His only other Power 5 offers are Rutgers and Virginia. Kind of strange.

Sam James would be a great addition to the offense.

Absolutely about Cooke. Like I said, he's a beast. I hope he comes here. I could see him at WR, RB, CB or S....and I'm not sure where I'd put him. He's got great speed, vision, hands and body control...but he can also lay the wood. He reminds me of Slaton when running that sweep...once he gets up to speed he's gone.

James looks like a pretty polished WR already, love how he baits defenders.

Don't forget Wheaton. I like James and think Cooke could play O or D but damn I want Wheaton. The dudes nasty, physical, deceptive speed and run after the catch. Plus hands the size of mitts. Same can prolly be said for Chandler, he looks like a better version of sills right now. Plus can maybe gain 20 lbs and be a nice h back. Dammit why haven't we offered Tavis yet? Lol ****. Did see where Cross Wilkinson committed to Toledo. Good for him. I thought he was the last option for wvu if they couldn't get a committ this year. But they live Wells from GW and would they really only take wv qb's two years in a row? Lol you know Holgorson's boy will walk on next year. Jeremy Dillion was up there which was a surprise but as a tight end. Really wish he would if worked out as a LB. fastest kid at the camp was Robinson from Morgantown High. Small wide out. Really wish they would of gotten the bird man up there to show them some speed lol.

WVU has added a second Miami transfer and ANOTHER tight end to the roster in Jovani Haskins. He redshirted last season and after sitting out 2017, he will be available as a sophomore in 2018. Miami has him listed at 6~4 and 245 pounds.

He was recruited heavily by WVU out of high school (he almost committed to the Mountaineers). He also had offers from VPI, Mississippi, UNC, Illinois, and sPitt. Another awesome transfer pick up by the staff. Haskins could be a big time threat for WVU in the red zone in the future.

And WVU has a new transfer in former Alabama receiver TJ Simmons.

The rising sophomore (I think he can redshirt for his transfer season in 2017) saw some time on the field with the Crimson Tide on special teams last season. He is listed as 6~2, 201 pounds. Coming out of high school he had offers from Mississippi State, Cincinnati and Southern Miss.

I love that the coaching staff has found a new way to get some high quality players to Morgantown. Having Allison, Haskins and Simmons for three seasons each will be huge. Getting a core of high school guys with some JUCOs and transfers is a way to build for success.

Yeah the coaching staff seems to really be finding their niche in recruiting. We are building some real solid depth for the future.

WVU added a commitment to the 2018 class in Ohio linebacker Josh Chandler.

This recruit seems to be flying under the rader. WVU was the Power 5 offers, and I have a feeling it was du to his size (I have seen him listed at 5~10; other have him a few inches taller). But David Long was a smaller guy and has worked out well.

Mr. Chandler isn't afraid of contact and he hits hard. With some coaching he could be pretty good on D.

I live in Canton and have seen him play a couple of times, he could be a steel, if he was 3 or 4 inches taller he would have Urban all over him

Our golden age feels closer than ever. I mean we are pulling receivers away from Alabama now?

Grier transfers in from Florida last year, and this year we get 2 transfers from Miami and one from Bama. I'd think potential recruits might take note of that, in a good way.

If Malik Zaire, the graduate transfer from ND fails at UF and they stumble offensively, and Grier is as successful as we're all hoping and praying he will be, I guarantee there will be whiny articles all across Gator country.

Found this 2 1/2 month old article from the Miami Herald interesting. I bolded the names and edited out the who cares parts...

What we’re hearing from UM spring practice, nearly halfway through
BY BARRY JACKSON
bjackson@miamiherald.com

Ten nuggets we’re hearing from UM’s closed spring football practices, which are about halfway completed:

• The quarterback play remains a work in progress, with some good moments but lots of inconsistency.

One observer says Jack Allison has looked good and throws with more authority than the other competitors. Malik Rosier knows the offense well, and his running ability is an asset, but inconsistency remains an issue.

Evan Shirreffs’ accuracy has been uneven. Cade Weldon is still learning the offense and behind several veterans.

• Tight ends coach Todd Hartley said this week he is “really pleased” with Michael Irvin Jr.’s development and that he and fellow backup tight end Jovani Haskins – both suspended for the bowl game – have made “significant strides.”

I don't even have anything productive to say other than our coaching staff is really getting out there and hitting it hard, I'm excited to see how these guys pan out, and honestly I have full faith in this staff's ability to get some dogs out on the field.
