I would bet on Shorts making the roster.

well, we had 2 players actually drafted, which is less than Temple and Toledo. I'm not sure how that's a positive for recruiting, but I applaud you for looking at the glass half full.

With 19, the Eagles have now drafted more WVU Mountaineers than any other team in NFL history.

I'd say if a number of them make the roster or practice squad that's a plus, because it shows that we're making you as a prospect NFL ready even in our down years.

WVU is quickly becoming Wide Receiver U as well.

As a side note, how the actual **** did Howard get picked up by anyone? He's not even XFL level talent.

Why throw negativity Howards way? He signed an nfl agreement to, at the very least, tryout of a spot on a roster. Applaud the young man.

Dude, we're not the only school with guys getting signed as free agents. The fact that Skyler signed with Seattle should tell you just how many players get signed after the draft. He was the 25th rated QB.

No, we're not WR U, either. I think LSU has had about 20 WRs get drafted in the past 5 seasons. And their offense is usually terrible. We've churned out some really good safeties over the years. If anything, we could be called a safety factory.

I think we're moving towards sending a bunch of receivers to the NFL. Tavon, Stedman, Kevin White, Shelton Gibson, Mario Alford, and we have some good receivers on roster right now with a chance. Safety wise we only really have KJ Dillon, Karl Joseph, and Keith Tandy are the only ones I can think of.

Sands and Terence Garvin. Those two and the ones you mentioned take us back to about 2010. We've had some good WRs but it's not as impressive a track record as other schools. Clemson could be considered WR U. We're not at that level, yet

Clemson does consider itself WR U. With 3 first round receivers in past few years ... They might be right.

No before this year, the last 1st round WR pick was in 2014 with Sammy Watkins, and later rounds Martavius Bryant went, and year before that DeAndre Hopkins went 1st round I believe, but other than that I haven't seen many Wide Receivers drafted recently. Since 2013 Clemson had 5 receivers drafted, we've had the exact same amount. With 2 first round picks as well (Tavon & Kevin White).

I know it doesn't seem like it, but we could damn well be "WRU" if we continue to develop talent that gets drafted, and do well on the recruiting stand point. I could definitely see Ka'Raun getting drafted, I think Sills has potential as well, and we haven't really even seen much of Jennings, Sims, etc. I'm a pretty optimistic person, so take it with a grain of salt, but why not us?

Fair point. I guess it would help the perception if Tavon were to have a breakout season and White were to come off his injury with a big season. I do think Ka'Raun has NFL potential. I'm really looking forward to seeing Sills. It sounds like he's a freak athlete that NFL scouts will be drooling over. hopefully Durante and Smothers develop into something special. I will agree that the potential is there for us

Your WR's need to produce to be called "WR U"...Our WR's are all labeled as busts at this point.

I definitely agree with you, but I don't think Kevin White's case has been closed since he's been injured the entire time, who knows if they start utilizing Tavon more in LA, can Alford make it stick with the Browns (I started laughing too, don't worry), I understand they are busts, but I still think we have time to officially label them at busts. As stated, I'm a pretty optimistic person, I think there's still a chance they perform, and I think there's a chance Gibson can do alright. As of right now, I don't think we should be called WR-U, I just think we have the potential to be if things start going well.

I like Howard and appreciate what he did for WVU, but I can't resist being snide.

Perfect pick for Seattle. They have a short, mobile QB, so Howard would be perfect for the 2nd team. The players would get used to the angle the ball is thrown and the QB being all over the field.

I really think Orlovsky is going to be a future pro-bowler. He's a little small, but his footwork is great, hands are quick, and he's very smart.
