Here we go. We now know Grier will playing from the opening game. What are you predictions for the year?

Here is the schedule.

vs. Virginia Tech (N)
vs East Carolina
vs Delaware State
@ Kansas
@ TCU
vs. Texas Tech
@ Baylor
vs Oklahoma St
vs Iowa State
@ Kansas State
vs Texas
@ Oklahoma

Here is what I got:
vs. Virginia Tech (N) WIN
- I think this comes down to WVU's offense vs. Tech's defense. Their D has strong points (linebacker especially) but their defensive line was just OK last year and lost their best pass rushers. Their offense is inexperienced and could play into Gibson's hands with a freshman quarterback starting.

vs East Carolina WIN

vs Delaware State WIN

@ Kansas WIN

@ TCU WIN

vs. Texas Tech WIN

@ Baylor WIN

vs Oklahoma St
- That stretch from Kansas to Baylor is tough but I think WVU is better than all four of those teams at this point. The Cowboys will come to town undefeated, look ahead to Bedlam the next week, and will walk out of Morgantown with an L

vs Iowa State WIN

@ Kansas State L
- I think the Wizard casts a spell on the Mountaineers in the Little Apple. It will be a close one (24-21) but they will have a long, painful late drive to walk away with the win.

vs Texas WIN
- The Longhorns will not be an instant power like everyone thinks under Herman. Texas got the same hype with Strong and look what happened.

@ Oklahoma L
I still think WVU will struggle in Norman. But if the schedule goes like this, they will get a rematch the next week in Jerry's World.

Regular season: 10-2.

I like the enthusiasm! I'm not making any predictions about WVU's record, but I do predict that I will forget that I paid over $700 for three tickets and a parking pass (purchased through Ticketmaster) for the game against VaTesticles on September 3rd if WVU wins.

I paid over $600 for two tickets (purchased through Ticketmaster) to see U2 at FedEx Field on Tuesday evening this week. I blame Dan Snider!

10-2, play OU in title game. Lose in Norman...I think we could be favored in our first 9 and walk into Manhattan as a playoff team...

8-4 with 4-4 record in the Big. Losses at OU, KState, TCU and Baylor

Hope I'm wrong, I just think our lines are too inexperienced and young. If we lose to the hated Hoagies, it is 7-5.

10-2

I like this team alot, to me best all around team for Dana since his first year. I actually like the D-line with Donahue and Schuler, they both looked really good last year. Hopefully Long's injury is not serious, but on defense only area where I'd be concerned is cornerbacks. Summer practices will tell us what we have here. If they look subpar, then I'd prob. downgrade to 9-3 or 8-4. To me the O'line looks solid if Cajuste is 100%. The running game is the best since, Devine, and Slaton. Grier looks to be the best QB since Geno. The one area where it looks to be solid but missing that speedster is WR's. Other than that Offense is best since 2012 to me.

I would like to say 14-0, but I think 9-3 is a more realistic possibility. I do think we squeak by VPI and start the season 7-0, but I think we lose a heart breaker again to Okie Light and can't get over the hump in Norman. KSU or Texas will be the third loss. I think we do win a bowl game and finish with 10 wins.

I am cautiously optimistic. We have the potential to only lose 1 or 2 games and make the Big XII championship game.

Any word on whether White (WR) and Cajuste (OL) have made full recoveries?

Comes down to developing and keeping the lines healthy. I say it every year. Last year the lines set the pace for their ten wins. If they play above and beyond another ten wins.

Wifey says 10-2 regular season lose bowl game.
I say 9- 3 win bowl game so the records are the same.
Don't think we get to Big 12 championship either way.

10-2 regular season. We don't get into the B12 Championship. We win a close hard fought bowl game, which sets the stage for a top 5 finish the next season. We are due.

I'm thinking 9-3 at the minimum with close losses to K State, Texas, and Oklahoma. I'm really hoping we can find a way to beat Oklahoma for the first time, but last game of the season at Norman with Baker and that O-line still there...I don't see it happening. Texas is second to last game and Tom Herman is undefeated as an underdog. He could have his team firing on all cylinders by the team he comes to Motown. And K-State is...K-State. That old wizard has Holgy's number, we were lucky to win last year.

Our offense should be the best it's ever been since being in the Big 12.
Grier is the first guy since Geno that can make all the throws Holgy wants for his offense and we got Spav back calling plays. Our RBs are the best in the Big 12. Huge bodies at WR with good experience. Losing Orlosky and Pankey was big, but we return sufficient experience and I expect at least an 8 man competition for 2 deep.

Our defense should be the deepest it's ever been. I don't expect our defense to fall off much from last season, especially with Gibson at DC. We lost our starting front 3 at DL but will have an 8-10 man competition for 2 deep. I love our transfer additions at CB which I think will soften the blow of losing Rasul. And LBs and Safeties should be studs.

I just realized I had us losing the last 3 games of the year but...yikes. What a brutal stretch.

Agreed. At this point I'm more concerned with the defense than the offense. Last year against Oklahoma they had their way and were pushing us off the line of scrimmage each play. In order to take the next step and contend for a conference championship we will have to do better.

At this point I'm more worried about Okie St than I am Texas or K St

I think we win 10 again.

Texas and Oklahoma both have new coaches.
