10/7 at TCU, ESPN has TCU as 84% winning
10/28 Ok State at home. ESPN has OK state 70%.
11/11 at KSU. ESPN has KSU at 76%.
11/25 at OU. ESPN has OU at 95%.

These 4 games games could easily be all losses but if WVU can win one of these, then you could have a decent 8-4 season. I think TCU and KSU are winnable though.

The other 6 we should win.
Should be wins:
DSU
Iowa St.
KU
Baylor

Should be tougher wins:
Texas
Texas Tech.

I wouldn't be terribly surprised if we went 2-2 in the "big games" granted it definitely depends on the corners, the toughest ones are obviously Oklahoma and Okie State with how they've looked, but we finally got some luck against TCU and K-State last year, basically it all depends on if our defensive line can start getting some pressure on QB's and forcing them to make mistakes, and relieving pressure from our corners which aren't very good. This is all optimistic talk, I'm not really gonna know how I feel confidently until after the TCU game and seeing if we've grown or not in 4-5 weeks.

I think we should be good enough to go 9-3 this season, baring any major injuries. It's hard to get a handle on just how good K St and TCU are at this point. They haven't played anyone worth mentioning. I don't think their offenses are actually as strong as they have looked in the past two weeks. As for Texas and TT, our offense will shred their defenses if they don't improve tremendously.

At this point we are a stereotypical B12 team. We have a great offense with a so so defense. There is room for the D to improve, but at this point the best we can hope for against stiffer competition is for the defense to be opportunistic. The more tackles for losses and turnovers they can get, the more they will set the offense up to build the lead. As and if the D-line and CBs improve, the better our chances for success will be.

I'm sorry but anything less than 10 wins is a disappointment. I don't give a crap about about preseason predictions. We did everything we possibly could to lose against VA tech. And after watching 2 weeks the only team that could legitimately beat us is Oklahoma.

I share your optimism, but bot Oklahoma schools are the real deal. Our defense must improve to win those two games. At this point our best bet in those two games would be to win in high scoring shootouts.

If Grier stays for his senior year, and with the seniors who will graduate from the Oklahoma schools I think the stars could really align for a B12 Championship next year, and perhaps a playoff spot. We are one year out to getting our defense back to what it once was. Not saying they can't improve this season. They just aren't there yet.

If we can finish the season at least 10-3 with a bowl win I think the buzz our offense will generate could land us a top 15 ranking to start next season. That is a very reachable goal for this team. It is possible that we could do even better than 9-3, and obviously I hope we do.

Now if we happen to clown stomp TCU, I'm gonna drink the whole glass of cool aid. So far our big blow out was over the worst ECU team we've ever played.

I would hold off on predicting a 10-win season for now. Our offense is loaded and fun to watch, but our defense struggled mightily against a VT offense that Delaware held to 2 touchdowns and 300 total yards.

Let's not forget we just beat up the worst team in FBS and this week play the worst team in FCS, followed by the worst team in Big 12. We won't have a good idea of who we are until TCU.

We haven't beaten a ranked team since 2013, so I need to see us beat someone before I jump on the bandwagon this year.

If we can get 10 wins with Skylar **** Howard then that should be the minimum amount of wins we achieve every year.

Last year was exceptional.
1. WVU won 4 relatively close games. If WVU had split them, they'd have 8 wins.
2. The Big XII was down -- only two ranked teams. In particular, in a few years, Texas will be a lot better than it was last year. TCU was also weak.
3. The OOC competition last year was relatively weak. The strongest team was Missouri. This year, WVU lost to VPI. In the future, the competition might be tough.

Though I 100% agree with this sentiment (we'd lose Ka'Raun White, Justin Crawford, Elijah Wellman, Kyle Bosch and Grant Liganfelter on offense), I hate the concept of saying next year. We'll still have questions in the safety's, offensive line, etc. I really wish our defense was as good as last years or the year before, with this offense. *Sigh* it seems like we say that often too? One year our offense is incredible, the next the defense is the strong unit... Can't wait for it to all come together for once, and the time finally be now, instead of next year.

WVU had five conference home games last season with a better defense than this year's defense, and two of those home games--KSU and Baylor--were close. This year, there are only four home games, and three of those four (TTU, UT and ISU) should be wins (OSU being the toughest home game). Three of the away games--KSU, TCU and OU--should be very difficult, and the two remaining away games--Baylor and Kansas--seemingly should be wins.

I'm not even thinking about next year, too many variables, plus OOC schedule will be alot tougher, you have Tenn. in NC, at NC State, and the easist game is Youngstown State, who are never an easy out.

Still think 8-4 most likely but 10-2 possible.

We have McCoy, Pettaway, and Bush taking many carries this year. Crawford is awesome, but we are at reload in that position next year. At this point White is our forth best wide receiver this year. Our offensive line was supposed to be a very week spot this season, but so far our new guys have stepped right in and performed well. I'm optimistic that next season will be the same. Elijah Wellman is good, but not irreplaceable. If Grier stays I only see our offense becoming more efficient by next season, especially with his top three receivers returning. I suppose after Sills putting up good numbers this year, he might consider leaving early. That would really suck if he did.

UGH.

But if we would have had Grier last year ... we don't lose a single game!

Next year's schedule is the kind of schedule that could get us into the playoff, even with a loss. Beating a big program like Tennessee in week 1 and beating a rising ACC team in week 3, on top of home games against OU and TCU will go a long way......not sure when our last wins were against SEC or ACC though, I know it's been several years...

As for this year, I think we'll see the Defense improve with more reps and help from the offense...10-2 is very possible.
