Yea. These days, believing in individual rights, individual freemdoms, lower taxes and the smallest government possible is very divisive. Throw in a belief in the Constitution, as written, and the progressive socialist leftist fascists hate you.

It's still We The People, right???

Or is it We The Federal Government???

I think you believe in your freedoms, and screw everyone else that wants something different.

What is this "something different" That you propose everyone else wants?
A chicken in every pot perhaps?

NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, is more divisive for a US citizens to do than disrespecting the US Flag, the National Anthem and all of the brave soldiers that fought and died protecting that Flag and our freedoms.

How about disrespecting a US soldier that gave his life in the line of duty, and telling his wife "He knew what he was getting into"?

I'd say that gives kneeling a run for it's money.

See? The context of that comment has been messed up.

Look. I didn't vote for the asshole. I don't think he is fit for the Presidency....BUT.....

He is not a good talker. He is not slick. He frequently speaks too quickly.

It is very hard to speak to anyone that has lost a loved one. Anyone that has tried to do it and has done it knowing that the NEED to say something when probably words would be better left unsaid might do the same thing. I am sure I have done the same.

It is my understanding that the context of the statement was "He knew what he was getting into.....and he did it anyway." That is a very nice compliment in my opinion. It succinctly SHOULD bring some measure of comfort to a person who has suffered loss. I didn't say it would make it any better but it is something.

I fully expect that he butchered the delivery. I fully expect that he probably left the important last part out. That is what aging people do when they have a conversation. They know what they want to say and then botch it.

I do not in the least believe in all of his assholery that he would ever intentionally disrespect a service person. I really don't and I think anyone with a modicum of rationality would feel this way too.

The woman riding with the congress woman probably doesn't like Trump. She can join our club. She has every right to be offended by what he said but the rest of us in the population need to understand that no one would INTEND to disrespect a person in their hour of loss.

Trump is an idiot.....not a monster.
