Yeah, me too. I think he's done a good job given that he got his promotion a year early and had to bring the program into a much tougher league a year later.
That said, I'm starting to wonder if 2016 will be considered a high water mark and if a Big 12 championship is a realistic goal. I'm not calling for his firing or anything but there are issues with the team that have bled over from one year to the next that make winning a conference championship really difficult. I'm not expecting him to turn the program into a top-tier one that just reloads every year but it would be nice to have the stars align and have a legitimate shot at the conference championship every couple of years.

The thing with that is, who do we go after? Realistically I think the best coach we could get would be Dan Mullen at Mississippi State, and who says he wants to leave? Unless we try a sexy P5 hire, which most likely all the good ones (see Frost at UCF) are going to get picked up with all these schools in limbo the next couple years.

I really don't know who we'd replace Holgy with, that being said, I like Holgy a lot and think he's grown immensely since he first arrived in Morgantown, being more adaptive to change and what not. I just don't know what's with the mentality in dropping all the close ones and ranked games. It's getting a little frustrating.

The thing that bothers me the most is that we lost because of STUPID self-inflicted mistakes.

I used to laugh at Baylor when they were one of the best teams in college football, and yet they would lose because they were undisciplined and made stupid mistakes.

Well ... that is who we are now.

I won't name names, but there are players on our team that should never play again. They are slow, lazy, or stupid; or a combination of all three.

Holgy needs to start DEMANDING perfection or you don't play.

Devil's advocate and how I feel....we are a school in WV. From all of our history, what is the "hump"that a new coach would take us over? I'm pretty content hoping for a good bowl, or dreaming of winning the big12 with the fantasy of pulling together a Pat White team that may win it all. Reality is the first two. This comes from a fan that remembers the season riding on whether or not we beat two PA schools in the 80s. Just wondering what folks thought the hump was and who could get us over it. I think we're over it.

For me the hump is winning the Big 12. Which as of right now still a reality.

I remember those days, all we cared about was beating Pitt and Penn St and if we got some low bowl game on TV it was a successful season....but then came that `88 season.. it made us all think, hey we can hang with the best of them, and we`ve been searching for it ever since...it`s an addiction.

I agree. I don't see why people say we can't this year. We are a catch and a terrible Fucking call from being undefeated. No way TCU goes undefeated. If we take care of business we can make it to the Big 12 championship game.
