Okay. Being excited about a 7-5 season who's best win in 2 seasons is against Iowa State that disappears completely against games that matter makes you suck. I want better and will complain thusly.

I can see why we were skipped by other bowls. If you were in charge of selecting teams for your bowl game would you really want an anemic WVU team that had a **** year without their starting quarterback who's best win for the last 2 years was against Iowa State? Utah will beat us. Might be close at half time but they will wear us down in the 2nd half because they have a great rushing defense, chugs isn't that good, our defense sucks, and Spav is our play caller. Don't waste your money

Like it or not folks, wvufan1818 take on this game is close to the sad reality of our 2017 football team.

The WVU defense is ranked # 110 in the FBS. Pat Miller would be proud of this bunch. The Utah defense is currently ranked # 32.

With Grier on the sideline, the appeal for this WVU squad is close to Zero (except in W.V.) I can also see why we were skipped over by other bowls. The amount of WVU tickets returned for this bowl game might be the highest in school history. The amount of empty seats on game day will be embarrassing, plenty short of the Cotton Bowl seating capacity of 92,100.

Govern yourself accordingly, we are playing a football team with a pulse. WVU doesn't do too well against teams with a pulse. Las Vegas agrees, WVU currently is a 6.5 underdog. Utah 38 WVU 17.

Wow, suprised Utah favored by 7, ESPN predictor has at 50/50
I think this is a game you bet on WVU and take the points.
I think we run more with Grier out, which to me is actually good. Chugs to me can do well in a system where we run 60% of the time.

I'm not trashing on you at all, you are right, 7-5 sucks, and Grier being out really sucks, this was definitely a rebuilding year, everybody else predicted it, we just did what we typically do as WVU fans and let irrational hope get the best of us. We should be happy we have a bowl, gives the guys extra weeks of practice, which will make us a better team in the future. Hell, if Grier and Sills come back next year is going to be special. I hate the next year mentality as well, but I truly do believe we have a great team coming back if all goes well. The future has to at least make you feel a little better right?

It looks like they are closing the upper level completely and only selling lower level seats. I hope they have some really nice tarps the throw up there.

Also, ticket prices are relatively low. $50 for decent lower level seats.

They should give discounts to all of the local high school students to fill the seats. And, give them blue and gold shirts!!!

I'm not excited about a 7-5 season but I'm not upset over it. Should have been 8-4 had Grier stayed healthy vs Texas and if VT and/or TCU could have went the other way in our favor, we're looking at a potential 9 win season with a completely rebuilt defense. The fact you didn't see this kind of season coming is what makes you (and a lot fans like you) so hard to be around. And you keep throwing the arguement "our best win in the past 2 years is Iowa State" like I give a crap about it. We won 10 games last year, but my bet is you were upset with that result too. It's difficult to put everything together when you're playing in the Big 12...and our program is not Oklahoma, or Ohio State or Alabama for that matter. So manage your expectations and quit being a whiny, depresssed child. Thank god people like you don't run this program with the mentality of burning everything down when it doesn't work right or else we'd be the Cleveland Browns of college football.

And to be clear, I'm critical of my Mountaineers. I don't live in this euphoric state and pretend everything is great. But I don't expect a 10+ win season every year either which is truly what being a realist is.

Not saying we win, but I’m also not seeing any reason to be so fricking negative about this game. We have a better record and played a more difficult schedule. If we had Grier we would be the overwhelming favorite.

If you remember, most preseason predictions had us pegged at 7-5 too.

I think Chugs will do just fine and we will win, though not in a pretty fashion. This could be a good rehearsal for Chugs if Grier does not come back. All live games will help him if Chugs is our guy next year, or in case he needs to spell Grier if he is injured again next season.

"Not saying we win" is exactly where you should have stopped your post especially since you agree with my prediction of Utah winning this game.

Also no more Kool Aid for you this season. If Grier was starting for WVU, this squad would NOT be an "OVERWHELMING favorite." Our # 110 ranked defense is a huge liability therefore it guarantees that we would not be an "OVERWHELMING favorite" against any of the listed 2017 bowl teams. There are many reasons why WVU is listed as a 6.5 point underdog to the 5th PLACE TEAM IN THE PAC 12 SOUTH. The Las Vegas book makers know the drill, we aren't very good.

Thank God there is always next season!

I'm not rooting against WVU and I'm not hoping we lose. I want us to go 12-0 every damn year. But we just aren't good this year and I hate spavital.

I still think we should try Routt at QB.

Holgy didn't recruit him ... so he HAS to be good!

Justin was a good player, enjoying watching him play. But in terms of his legacy, and where he ranks in all-time WVU best RBs, consider this amazing stat:

He scored a total of 3 TDs in 2 seasons against Big 12 teams not named Kansas.

Wow, didn't realize that.

Nevertheless, an interesting stat from the article....Crawford is the first back to have back-to-back 1,000 yard rushing seasons since Noel Devine (2008, 2009). That's pretty good considering how Holgorsen mixes up the running backs whereas Devine seemed to be in every down when he was healthy.
