Well, did they say something offensive to our player? They’ve done this **** before in the shithole, remember when the guy sitting by the floor got into it with the OSU dude? So who’s to say? Maybe the hurled a slur? There is no way to determine. The fans were in the players domain. No punishment will come of this.

If Huggins or the athletic department suspends whoever was involved I’ll be irate. We’re going to lose the conference because fans who broke NCAA policy threatened our players safety, who were only on the court because of screw job officiating??

WVU statement should read like this:
“WVU has identified the player involved with fans after the game in Lubbock ended. We have discussed how to better handle that situation in the future, as we recognize that being an elite program men’s that occasionally when inferior opponents defeat our team the fans may act irrationally. There will be no discipline for our player involved as he felt threatened by fans who entered the players domain, breaking TT, B12 and NCAA rules. We call on the TTU administration to do a better job of controlling their fans and ensuring player safety.”

Boom. **** tech and **** the officials

Well since it was a haymaker coming from a left hand. I’m pretty sure it was Harris.

Don’t give a damn what was said or who it was. Suspended the rest of the season. Unless the guy had a weapon or swung first it’s completely inexcusable.
Fan should press charges for assault.

Uh no. This isn’t the snowflake conference. Rush the court at your own risk. And after watching the video in HD it was Harris then Sags jumped in and another player I can’t identify. Everyone was then quickly rushed off the court with their hands in the air.

You are ridiculous. The fans HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE ON THE COURT. They committed a trespassing crime. You’re sounding like the kind of guy who would prosecute the homeowner for shooting somebody entering their house illegally. The fan who was hit broke the law. When you go onto the field of play you take your safety into your hands. A player feeling unsafe has every right to defend themselves. Absolutely no punishment should be dolled out

There will be a lot of film study, but not the kind we want. This does not bode well for the Kansas game, but the season isn't over, we haven't lost the conference yet. Maybe this unites the team. Who knows?

Court storming is not permitted for a reason, player safety. Let's see what happened before the punches were thrown before we sentence everyone to life in prison.

There could be criminal charges in Lubbuck or there could be nothing. There could be punishment or there could be nothing. The circumstances will dictate. Let's wait and see.

This will be the catalyst that the NCAA uses to completely ban court storming. They will impose a huge fine or perhaps even forfeit the game as punishment if the school doesn't comply. They should too. It is just a matter of time before someone gets trampled to death.

In some conferences it is illegal to storm the court.

A few years ago SEC increased the fines substantially, making the first offense $50,000, the second $100,000 and the third and subsequent offenses $250,000. Schools never go to a lesser level of fine after the initial offense.

I thought court storming in the BIG12 was forbidden???

I posted this article back in 2015. http://www.wemustignitethiscouch.com/ ... id=758103#forumpost758103

Did they not take action on the meetings?

Either way you can bet they set an example of the player. They always do.

I agree with everyone saying the fans have no right to rush the court. It puts the players safety in jeopardy.

I remember thinking that when the game ended one of our players was stuck in the deep corner with the fans racing between him and our bench.

The fans are completely at fault and responsible for every consequence that followed.

From what I can see in the video, it looks like the fan initiated contact with a shoulder into Harris. It did not appear to be accidental. Harris had every right to defend himself, but should not have thrown a punch. He doesn't deserve to be suspended, much less face assault charges. If anything, the fan deserves to face consequences for initiating the contact while being where he shouldn't have been.

I just saw this and I've watched the video a few times. The TT fan in question shoved a WV player. I'm not certain which one. Once shoved, it's fair game to defend oneself. I believe it will be very difficult for WV if they decide the player in question is to be suspended. Personally, being a donor, I will file a protest in favor of no suspension. I suggest all donors do the same. Money talks. Yanking money from the University for unfairly singling out a kid who is only trying to defend himself can go a long way towards keeping the team intact. I will also suggest the WV player in question immediately file suit against TT University and the Big XII for failure to protect his safety.
He was clearly assaulted. He has a right to be on the court. The fan has no such right. Once identified, he should be charged with trespassing and assault. If a student at TT, he should be expelled.
What will happen now when TT comes to Morgantown? How do you think their fans will be treated after this bullshit? They have always traveled well for WV football games. We bought beers for TT fans at Mario's Fishbowl last fall. I think we'll just boo them out the door from now on. Fook 'em.

I’m sorry, those of you saying the TT fan ran into Harris intentionally are just homers making excuses for piss poor behavior. It was CLEARLY accidental. Harris was acting like a bi*** because they lost. He deserves a suspension and the fan should press assault charges.
The melee after that is far less clear from what I have found on the web.
The fan was looking in the opposite direction and bumped into Harris who immediately whirls around and punches him in the back of the head (maybe upper back), like a bi***.
