Martin Jr. doesn't look to be a top recruit though.

Top recruit? Are you sniffing airplane glue? This would be HUGE. Like an orange on a toothpick.

And you know this bc, you use to be a D1 recruiter? Its still early and as of right now doesn't look to be a top recruit based on the major recruiting sites. (Prob bc he's only 6'6 as a 4) The hype is obviously just based on name.
Still has a senior year to grow and maybe he does become an elite recruit.

Top recruit or not, he would be a great get due to his name. It would bring more visibility to our program. Visibility = more recruits.

I'll pass on the visibility, I like getting the hard nosed guys, like Carter, Miles, and Konate, that are underrecruited.

Maybe Huggs can snag Scottie Pippen Jr while he's there!

How much more visibility is there. Almost every game we have is on ESPN, we have been in the top 20 for the last year, Hugs is a HOF caliber coach etc. getting Martin will add nothing to our visability

I disagree somewhat. If he is a project type player, then it is worth the scholly since Huggs is betting he will be a system guide in a few years. PR these days are really important. Look no further than the Trae Young Love Fest

What does Trae Young a 5 star prospect, have to do with recruiting a player soley based on what his father did. How does that help Public relations for WVU basketball?

I don't think Martin's father has anything to do with Huggs offering a scholarship. It whether he can play defend and score that counts.

Look guys. Programs like Kansas, Nova, Duke, UNC, etc have consistently great teams that win championships because they get the top recruits. No, not EVERY top recruit is a top player, but the law of averages says that when you keep getting the top level recruits, enough of them will pan out to be great and make the coach's job that much easier in getting championships. Tonight, I watched a highly recruited 4 star point guard, named Devonte Graham, kill us with his three point shooting. Sure, we can win a lot of games and get highly ranked, maybe even number 2 in the polls for a few days, but in order to get over the hump and win championships, we need these kinds of players, and we need lots of them, because of course, not all will pan out.
Go get him, Huggs!

When do we ever get "top recruits" lol. He's 6'6" maybe a Lil more and he's long and athletic af. We don't have a guy like him. Raw but if he was willing to work he could be damn good. Yeah it'd be a huge get. He stopped by in vegas and saw a 6'10" kid with roots to wvu
