Someone needs to explain something to me. How in the hell does someone get 30 days, 30 DAYS!!!!!, for killing someone.

---"Stallworth faced 15 years in prison. After his release from jail, Stallworth must serve two years of house arrest and spend eight years on probation."---

Don't try that "he's a celebrity" crap. These deals are made every day. He should be doing the 15 years but because he is making a deal they let him plead down to 30 days. you have got to be F%&*ING KIDDING ME!! I crime was committed(manslaughter), while another crime(DUI) was in the process of being committed. Isn't there a law about if a murder/manslaughter is committed in the act of a felony it is automatically murder 1? Something like this needs to be in effect for DUI fatalities. I know DUIs aren't felonies but 30 F%&*ING DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!

On an up note to this story Stallworth will be able to resume his PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL CAREER...WTF (note the sarcasm)

it's ridiculous. he should have got at least 10 years. accidental or not, he was drunk and driving. that's idiotic mistake #1, and there's no room for another one. he should be on house arrest and never be able to drive anywhere again.

I remember reading an article a while back somewhere that said that if Stallworth decided to fight the charges he would possibly get off without any charges because of some law in Florida that seems to protect drunk drivers. It was something like if you're drunk and someone sober rear ends you and they die, you're not held accountable for that and somehow, since the guy Stallworth hit was actually jaywalking that the law could protect Stallworth from being fully liable. This was just the writer's take on the law but that kind of makes me think that is the reason that he got so little time, if so, what a pile of @#$%

As the old saying goes: "Money talks, and BU(($#IT walks!
Money is POWER in this world and sometimes, and i mean sometimes, celebs. caught doing something wrong get the harshest punishment b/c an example wants to be set (what not to do). But more often than not, celebs, athletes, politicians, and others in the public eye w/ money get off, scott free, meanwhile the little guys like us get stuck for a lengthy sentence, if we were in the same situation.
Stallworth should be ashamed but lucky that he got what he got, b/c he deserved worse.
If you take the chance and drive while impaired, then you need to take personal responsibility and do the time that you got coming to you...everyone else has to (that don't have money).

and he's not even going to get 30 days! he's getting 24. because of a stupid law florida has, it's something like "for every month someone is sentenced, they get 5 days off." and no, i'm not making this up. and he's getting another day off for time spent. WTF

Exactly.

How can you kill someone b/c you were drunk driving and be charged with manslaughter? Why isn't this a felony? Why isn't this vehicular homicide? He knew he was drunk and still he got behind the wheel of a car at seven o'clock in the morning and killed a man who was on his way to work--to a real job, not one where you get paid obscene amounts of money to play a game and apparently get to live above the law. This sickens me.

Wait... so your telling me, he gets time taking off of a 30 day sentence, for time spent? I mean geez, at least let him spend that dreadfully long 30.... 30 day sentence.

Wow, thats all i have to say about this.

Thank you! Because Dante killed someone while driving drunk this is being noticed. How many football players get in car and drive drunk but only get 'slapped on the hand'? Gotta tell ya.....Michael Vick doesn't even compare to this guy.
