COACH ROD STAYS

Toll the bells, let the schools out, blast Country Roads, and destroy any and all copies of Sweet Home Alabama, West Virginia University Head Football Coach Rich Rodriguez is staying in Morgantown. Apparently unswayed by the offer from Alabama to become the head coach of the Crimson Tide, Coach Rod informed the team before today's practice that he will return for his seventh season at WVU. Such a decision immediately throws pie in the faces of ESPN's Joe Schad, The Birmingham News, Rivals.com, and Bluegoldnews.com, which all reported last night that Coach Rod had accepted Alabama's offer in principle. Coach Rod will remain at WVU, though the details of his presumably re-negotiated contract are still unknown. You may step away from the ledge, Mountaineer fans. |
